Would bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection cause a painful pap?

I got my first pap a couple days ago and it was the most AWFUL moment of my life! I was crying and freaking out, I dont know if it was pain or just extremely uncomfortable. I do have BV and a yeast infection (gross i know)…would that cause pain and discomfort during a pap? Im just scared to go back and have my doctor say I have cancer!

thats like asking if your first time having sex is gonna hurt or not-of course it is because your not gonna have the experience to know how to relax enough to where it wont hurt. and the fact that you have a BV and a yeast infection only will add to the pain factor because those are painful and uncomfortable in themselves. Dont worry, girl, everything will be fine the next go around
Both can cause pain during a pap. Also, since it was your first pap, most are painful. A pap itself is not something any woman likes to have done. It’s uncomfortable and can cause cramping during the exam. Try to relax, I think you’re overreacting.
