What natural remedies can I use to cure Bacterial Vaginosis?
I got BV about a year ago and had it treated by my gynecologist. I took the 7 day prescription that you take orally and the problem went away. About eight months later the problem came back. I am curious as to why this keeps happening. I shower every day and do not wash down there with anything but water and sometimes summers eve. It’s definitely not a hygiene issue because I am a very clean person. I have read that I should dip a tampon in yogurt and that should help the problem. What kind of yogurt should I use? I have also read that acidophilus and garlic will work? Has anyone taken these pills and found that they help? This problem is very embarrassing and I just want it to go away for good. Does anyone have any good tips for me?

It may be that you have a bit of systemic yeast infection due to an imbalance of good to harmful internal flora. Often the mainstream cure for BV will result in its return, because the cure wipes out both harmful and beneficial bacteria alike (as is frequetly the case with prolonged use of antibiotics) and when the intestinal flora re-establishes itself the bad bacteria gain an upper hand.
Supplementation with a good all around probiotic may provide a solution (acidophillus is good, but is only one of many beneficial bacteria needed for proper intestinal balance), provided that you also eat a healthy diet of mostly raw and mostly vegan foods. Likewise garlic is a good pathogen destroyer that should be beneficial.
The yogurt remedy is an old one that many swear by. You chould use unflavored organic yogurt with no added sugar if you try that remedy, and it does work in many instances.
Two others you might consider instead are:
Take a superior brand of colloidal silver both internally by mouth, and vaginally by coating a tampon with a combination of colloidal silver, a few drops of tea tree oil and either aloe vera gel or KY jelly. Insert it into the vagina and leaving for 30-40 minutes. Likewise, douches with colloidal silver and a few drops of tea tree oil can rid yeast infections and keep them at bay.
Ease the maddening itch of a yeast infection with a suppository made with boric acid. Although its name sounds harsh, boric acid acts as a mild antiseptic and has antiviral and antifungal properties. Insert one suppository every night as long as needed. Do not exceed 14 days. If you don’t find the suppositories in your natural food store, ask your pharmacist to make them.
wow. im sorry. that sucks.
You can dip a tampon in plain yogurt to help get rid of your infection. You can also put a cup of apple cider vinegar into your bath to relieve the infection. It smells bad but it works.
I got that thing when I was a kid. Not kidding.
