What is bacterial vaginosis, and what are some signs and symptoms, besides discharge and odor?

How do you get it? I wakeboard a lot, so could being in lake water cause it?

itching is a sign.. and a lot of times you discover that you have one right after your period is finished. Thats what has happened to me anyway. Also, i never began to get bacterial vaginosis until i started to have anal sex or any kind of anal play. I haven’t gotten one in a while since i have made sure to keep myself extremely clean especially before sex and made it very clear to my partner that he needs to be careful to not let any bacteria get near my vagina. So basically you get bv when the balances of bacteria are thrown off in your vagina. Other things can cause it too. I think i had abut 4 or 5 of those last year. NOT FUN.
it smells fishy and the vagina has a chemical inbalance thats the best i got.
