You can treat it for a week and it goes away and in another week, it can come back!
Some women seem to have a chronic problem.
Always wipe from front to back so nothing from the rectum gets near your vagina (the bacteria near the rectum can get near the vagina and cause re-infection.)
There is a product on the market called ReFresh – you can buy this at any big supermarket or drugstore
(Walmart – Walgreens’)
It is a gel type vaginal applicators that contain a gel that is supposed to help keep your vaginal Ph in balance – you can insert one every 4 or 5 days – (especially after you have sex – because the semen in the man’s ejaculate can alter the Ph balance in the vagina and set you up for another BV infection.)
Sometimes, no matter how careful that you are, you can still keep getting this infection.
The gynecologist might reccomend that you use the Metro gel prescription medication every so often (maybe once or twice a week , for awhile, to try to keep it from coming back.
