thrush or bacterial vaginosis (sorry may be tmi)?
last september i was diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease and was told i had thrush which may have caused it, i was treated for both but since after christmas its just got worse. sorry this is tmi..but im getting a lot of discharge and it smells horrible (even after a bath/shower, & i mostly notice its worse after ive had a wee), i looked this up and read it could be bacterial vaginosis? i thought the pills and creams would have helped unless it has come back? do you think i should go back to the hospital and get a second opinion and would they give me the same treatment as before or something stronger? i really need this sorted as its so uncomfortable on top of having pains from the pid, and everything else ive tried for it isnt helping =( ty

Go to the doctor, it can be very serious if not sorted. If you tap it in to the computer there is a very good site with all the info about Pelvic inflammatory disease. I know because my step daughter needed info and i looked it up for her.
call your doctor up and get some meds
i have no exo of bacterial vaginosis im afraid but would def go back to the docs..whenever i have had thrush its just been a small bit of discharge but mainly itching that drove me mental lol.
i would discuss your concerns with the doc no one on here can give you sound information without talking face to face (and then only if they are docs of course lol)
good luck!
you really shouldnt ask these sort of questions on here. go to your doctor as he will tell you correctly which is more than you can hope for on here
Honey, get yourself to the doctor and don’t leave until they have addressed all of your symptoms! PID should not have persisted this long. I don’t think it is safe to diagnose without a doctor seeing your symptoms, and it is likely that what you need is prescription. If the doctor you see doesn’t want to listen to all that you have to say, insist on seeing another doctor. Go, today, now.
Common sense suggestions, however, are to make sure you’re using a very mild cleanser (like Cetaphil), switching to cotton panties and looser clothes around your hips, and eating yogurt with active cultures.
If you have got bacterial vaginosis just go to the docs and they will give you antibiotics for it! I had it once and they gave me some antis, its nothing serious! As for thrush, get canesten oral and cream! Good Luck
PID can be caused by a variety of different bugs including bacterial vaginosis. Thrush however is the one bug that does not get beyond the vagina and so cannot cause PID as PID effects the uterus/tubes/ovaries, not the vagina. However the main symptom may be a smelly vaginal discharge, but pain is also usually a feature of PID and if you don’t have any, you may just have an infection in the vagina. The presence of thrush (main symptoms being itching and a creamy/white discharge) does suggest that the normal condition of your vagina, which normally protects against infection, has been altered. This may be by excessive washing with strong detergents, which would also make you prone to bacterial vaginosis, or conditions may have been altered by another infection, either sexually transmitted or not.
Basically, you should see your doctor asap and they should do a gynae examination and take some swabs. Then they should put you on anibiotics and Thrush treatment simultaneously. The antibiotics may vary, but should include Metronidazole.
Finally (and this may or may not be relevant to you), as some infections can be passed on through sexual contact, even though they may not have been originally contracted during sex, both you and your partner should get a full sexual health screen, even if your partner is not displaying any symptoms.
Hope this helps.
dont use bubble bath and see dr asap
