risks of bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy?
my last pregnancy ended in stillbirth at 26 weeks. The post mortem revealed bacterial vaginosis had caused the pre term labour and death of my son. I am now 26 weeks pregnant again and have been tested for bv throughout this pregnancy, they have just found i have bv again and have given me Clindamycin. I have looked on the net and it says that treating bv can some times not prevent pre term labour. does any one know if this is true? or what the risks are? please help i really dont want to loose another baby

I suffer from BV and have been fine, was treated early in pregnancy and have not had any more episodes since. I’m confused, was that the only thing that they put down as the cause of his death because of BV?
There hasn’t really been enough research carried out on BV to be truthful and there are more myths out there than facts. I will say that since the doctors know about your history they will be monitoring you closely and the medication will help prevent pre-term labour, lots of women have BV and go on to have healthy babies full term.
Try to stay positive and if in doubt talk to your midwife or doctor, don’t stress as this can cause complications in itself!
Good Luck!
im so sorry about ur baby lose.
if u worry bot it, then talk to ur doctor bot it more, they will give u more info.. i think u will be fine as u hav treatment.
