I swear this makes me not want to have sex again ever. People were saying its normal to have discharge that smells after having unprotected sex but for a full month? I had sex on christmas and shortly after this happened. I made an appt for the doctor but its not until Friday and now I’m starting to itch. Is there anything I can do?

There is no single cure for vaginal odor caused due to vaginosis. What you need to do is to make use of simple home remedies and take certain preventive measures to eliminate the vaginal smell. Vaginosis is a common bacterial infection women suffer from. The most embarrassing part of suffering from vaginosis is the fishy vaginal odor. Often this odor becomes unbearable and makes it difficult for you to get intimate with your partner.
Here are a few things you can do to prevent vaginal odor
a) Wash the vagina twice a day with plain water. Do not make use of soaps which can irritate the delicate vaginal tissues
b) Ensure that you change your sanitary protection at regular intervals. Don’t leave tampons for long after your bleeding stops.
c) Always have protected sex by making use of condoms and stick to one sexual partner.
How to reduce and get rid of vaginal odor?
a) To get rid of vaginal odor completely you must pay attention to what you eat. While suffering from vaginosis it is important that you stop consumption of drinks and food which can worsen your condition. These include beer, bread, sugary substances, mushrooms and coffee.
b) Mix 2 to 3 drops of tea tree oil with 5 to 6 ounces of water and apply in the vagina. The antibacterial properties of this oil are very effective in getting rid of the harmful bacteria responsible for this condition.
c) Another home cure for vaginal odor is chlorophyll. Add a tablespoon of chlorophyll with 7 to 8 ounces of water and consume the mixture. This mixture acts like a deodorizer. Do not be alarmed if the color of your tongue turns blackish or the color of urine becomes green on the consuming of chlorophyll. In case you are undergoing treatment for any other ailment that you may be suffering from, consult your doctor before taking chlorophyll.

Smell is OK.
Fishy smell is bad.
If it’s just a stronger than usual odor, there’s nothing you can do.
If it’s that fishy smell, there’s really nothing you can do without your doctor.
Rethink who you have sex with if you have a smelly discharge. Just go to the store and get some monistat. If it’s really smelly and itchy, go to the dr and get the pill for yeast infection.
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most common cause of vaginal infection. For grammatical reasons, some people prefer to call it vaginal bacteriosis[citation needed]. It is not generally considered to be a sexually transmitted infection[1] (see causes below). BV is caused by an imbalance of naturally occurring bacterial flora, and should not be confused with yeast infection (candidiasis), or infection with Trichomonas vaginalis (trichomoniasis) which are not caused by bacteria."
