can bacterial vaginosis cause pain inside the vagina? I am not talking the outside I am talking inside..
I used a rag full of perfumed olay soap down there and ever since I have been having pain on the inside of my vagina, it has been going on for a little over a month now. I have nothing else other then that pain and it started the day after I used the soap (I had never used soap down there before), it also sometimes kind of feels swollen inside
I have no insurance to see a doctor, is there anything at the store I can buy?

I have only recently, in the past month, got rid of BV. Ive noticed it coming back again, its really annoying me now, how do i get rid of it for good, or ensure it never comes back? I started using Femfresh wash and talc powder as it restores the PH Level of the vagina about 5 months ago but i dont know if this is making it worse?

my doctor told me i have a minor bacterial infection (bacterial vaginitis or whatever its called) i feel a little uncomfortable because of the discharge. i have never had an infection before besides a yeast a long time ago. so my question is, what is better, to treat it orally with pills or use the cream that u insert every night? she gave me a choice and i want to know if theres a certain one that works better? also- is this contagious, like did i pass the infection to my boyfriend if we had sex? can he pass it back to me once im done with the medication? i only have one sex partner and its been this way for a while.
please no rude answers just some advice. thanks

I was recently diagnosed with BV. I think I’ve actually had it for a couple months now, but didn’t know since I’ve never had a problem before and the symptoms were very mild. My and my husband have had sex in that time period after I think I developed it. Should he be tested? We plan on abstaining for about a month anyway because of this. I actually think it’s because of having sex with him so I’m not sure if he would get it if that were the case? (We just started having sex when I think we got it, and he’s the only person I’ve been with, and he hasn’t been with anyone else since years ago.) I think the sexual activity messed up my PH. So could he still get it, or no? I don’t want to pass it back and forth to each other.

I’m 20 years old and recently became sexually active with my boyfriend. Earlier this year, after having sex a few times, I contracted what I thought was a yeast infection. I couldn’t go to the OBGYN at the time, so I bought OTC Monistat-7 and completed the treatment. I got better and stopped using a soap that I had previously been using. (It was an unscented soap from an organic store that only had vegetable glycerin and some oil in it). I started using Dove, and for a few months, I was fine.
I don’t exactly remember my soap usage after that, but I once again contracted what I thought was a yeast infection, a few months later. I was with the same man, and thought that maybe we hadn’t been hygienic enough or that I had worn a bathing suit too long, etc. I took Monistat-3 and felt slightly better, but now, about 2 weeks after completing that treatment, I feel slight irritation again.
I was so frustrated that I had gotten another one. I realize that it could be recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis, but I don’t have any strong odors.
I’ve come to think that maybe this soap is the answer. I have very sensitive skin, and it doesn’t give me problems elsewhere, but could I be allergic to the vegetable glycerin? I wash frequently and use the bar soap directly on my genitals and I’m beginning to think that maybe it’s not washing off all of the way, it’s irritating me, or it’s promoting growth of either yeast or bacteria.
Does anyone know what could be going on here? Allergies/irritation? Or am I just stuck with recurring infections?
Help!

I have had bacterial vaginosis for over 2 years. I have visited the OBGYN for the issue 11 times within the 2 years. I have taken ALL of the prescriptions and it keeps coming back. I have even tried the acidopholis supplements and the over the counter bv treatment from Walgreens without any luck. The only thing that works is the metro gel, but the bacteria returns a week or so later. I dont wear underwear at night, I eat yogurt everyday, I take 2 showers a day and I take ReFresh daily supplements. It usually comes back after I have sex. My OB said that men cant pass it to women so he has received no treatment. We stopped having sex for 2 months and the bv still came back twice, so it cant be that. I have been told that my anemia could be triggering the bv. However, I take iron supplements daily to control the anemia. I have had anemia since I was little and I didn’t start getting bv until 2 years ago. Please help.. I am miserable!
I drink lots of coffee and eat lots of candy..Not sure if that makes a difference..
Yes i do use tampons, and i am really bad about changing to smaller tampons as my period decreases! I have also used tampons for the past 2 years to catch the nasty BV discharge.
I will try that. Thanks so much!!

I’ve been back and forth to the doctor for almost a year now. They keep putting me on antibiotics like flagyl and a few others. Anyway, they cure it for a few weeks then it creeps back up! WTF. I’m over it. I’ve been doing LOTS of research and they say home remedies work best. Please help. On a side note – I use protection when i do have sex. I even went abstinant for a few months. Still didn’t help.
