My wife is severely suffering from bacterial vaginosis. We are in China now but it seems the chinese doctors are not that good in medicine. Please help us with your advise.

This is very long in my head but I’ll try and make it short. My girl friend and I have been together for a year. Between each other it has been our first time at everything.
The first few times I fingered her she started out dry and there was no smell at all. We started having sex occasionally and still would finger her. One day, she discharged for the first time unexpectedly and there was a little bit of an fishy odor…. that was about 5 months ago. Since then, she’ll discharge a slighly yellow discharge with a fishy smell when I finger her and her vagina is always wet and always has a smell. I’ve been reading for weeks about women and related topics to try and get answers for her since she still lives with her parents and can’t easily go about research or help. I’m thinking it is bacterial vaginosis… I want to know what others think. There’s no itch but simptoms are, pain during sex if I go to deep, cramps after sex, smell, wetness. Any ideas or home/store remedies?
trying to solve this without going to gynacologist… would not be easily done by any means.. thanks

I would love all of the advice I could get… It all started 2 weeks ago, I went to the obgyn 2 weeks ago and they said that I had a yeast infection and they prescribed me terazol, I used it that night and woke up the next morning all swollen and red down there, they told me to not use the terazol and the had me take diflucan, 3 days later I still felt horrible and I went back, now they said that I had bv (bacterial vagiitis) and prescribed me metronidazole gel for 5 nights, I went back 3 days later cause I felt worse, they said that I still had bv and the yeast infection came back, so they told me to finish the gel and to take a diflucan that day and 3 days later take another one, so now it has been 2 days since I finished the gel and 1 day since I finished the diflucan and I still feel very irritated and uncomfortable, the symptoms never eased up!! I can barely stand because the pressure makes it so much worse!! I’m so upset because I’m pregnant and don’t want to be taking all of these meds!!! Has anyone ever had this problem or know anything about it? Please help, I’m so frustrated and upset!!!

I started taking a probiotic called Ultimate flora critical care for bacterial vaginosis and now my vaginal odor is different and smells worse. I am so frustrated. I have seen the yogurt remedies so might try that but everyime I go to the doctor I get help and it comes back.

Okay, alot of the time , mostly during my period I have this smell that is kind of sikening, but I dont really know if it is ‘fishy. Sometimes I am itchy "down there" and very rarely, but sometimes I feel a burn when I pee. and i dont really know about the discharce. do I have bacterial vaginosis? i am really embarrased and dont want to go to a doctor unless ABSOLUTLEY nesscesary. what should I do ?

I recently heard that an organisms body temperature will become lower if it has a viral illness. I know that it will raise with a bacterial infection as the bodys way of destroying any bacteria… but why would it lower for a virus?

Hi! I’ve had lower abdominal pain for the past month or two, and in the past couple weeks I started getting a really bad-smelling vaginal discharge. I saw a doctor, had a pelvic exam, and the lab results said that I have Bacterial Vaginosis. I didn’t mention the abdominal pain to the doctor, just because I didn’t think of it… the smelly discharge was what was really bothering me at the time.

Now I’ve been reading about Bacterial Vaginosis, and nowhere does it mention abdominal pain as a symptom. Has anyone else had that as a symptom? Or could I possibly have something more serious- like Pelvic Inflammatory Disease? Should I worry, or should I just wait and see if the prescription for the BV makes it go away?

Please help, give advice, or just give encouragement… I need it.

i went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with a yeast infection, PLUS bacterial vaginosis. the doctor prescribed me diflucan for the yeast, and clindamycin for the bacterial infection. i’m really confused about treatment though, because i remember her saying something about taking one of the medications will cause the yeast infection to come back or something, but i’m not positive. she told me to take one of the diflucan yeast pills, then the next night, start using the clindamycin cream every night before bed for a week. then after the last treatment take another pill, and if it’s still itching a week later, take another pill. i’m confused though, can someone please help me understand what she was saying about the yeast coming back? thanks.

had been having discharge and irritation for months and finally i got myself to go into family planning, and was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. I am now taking flagyl 500 mg 2 a day for 7 days. I started taking them on sunday. Will this compltely cure me of bv? These pills make me kinda sick, and When does the discharge and symptoms usually start to go away?
BTW, my doctor said this is totally not trasmittable and my partner does not need to be treated.
