I was treated for bacterial vaginosis with antibiotics about a month ago. the doctor warned that the antibiotics would give me a vaginal yeast infection. during the course of antibiotics i noticed a white discharge with an odor of bear or baking bread & Itch. symptoms pointed to yeast infection. I’ve not yet gotten a prescription to treat the yeast and now im starting to notice a stronger odor! (sour smelling, really bad)The itch is a lot worse! And a burning sensation. I also have a build up of clumpy whitish/brown discharge around the outside of my vagina. I HAVE NOT HAD SEX SINCE BEFORE MY ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENT. (i do use vaginal cleansing clothes). What could this be???

Ok so for about a week I have been have an extremely irritated, dry, and itchy vajayjay. Well today I looked and there was white chunks all on it, and I thought that it was the hydro cortisone that I had put on it earlier, for the itching. Well I just went to the bathroom again, and I looked and there were the same chunks, and I wiped them with a cottonelle flush-able wet wipe, and it kinda looked like wet toilet paper, but I hadn’t used toilet paper the last time I went potty and I wiped clean, so it is not tp. Anyone know what this is? Probably a yeast infection? I thought that I had a yeast infection before, but it was no way like this. There is no creamy discharge, just these chunks? I also heard that my symptoms might be bacterial vaginosis? Does this sound like anything you all have had, heard of, know of, or seen? Thanks to all and God bless you.
My next appointment is on the 28th, also my clinic is closed on Fridays and weekends. I am not sure where to go, I dont want to go to the ER, but it seems to need attention.
Syphilis is a dangerous disease, do you think that you are funny? You must be an idiot.
Okay everyone, sorry for the false alarm… it was just toilet paper. I stopped using the tp and it hasnt happened again. So I will still be seen by my doc, to make sure that all is well and the itch is from all the hormones etc. But it’s still nice not to have a frightening discharge, like I thought I did.
Thanks for your answers any how.

However, I’m so freaked out that I am fearing having sex with him, and just had an argument with him and he told me he won;t have sex with me anymore due to how I’m feeling. I feel I got this cause of him.
I’m feel I won’t be able to have sex with hima nymore I;m just afraid of getting sick again. What should I do?

my girlfriend has been sick with a yeast infection, but has recovered from it. But now she has Bacterial vaginitis or a bacterial infection of the vagina… this has been ongoing for 2 months now and showing little or no improvement. i recently went away to college while she is still in high school, i love her deeply but worrying about her has started to affect me, i cant sleep and rarely eat and I’m upset because she wont seek professional help and insists upon returning to the same doctors who just keep giving her the same meds even tho she hasn’t gotten any btr…
I love her but this is starting to tear me apart, i cant stand to see her like this and she is scared that she will somehow get me sick so she’s scared to do anything with me and has gotten really nervous and paranoid about everything, not just sexually but everything,
i just need advice on what is the best coarse of action that i should take, i want to b with her but if she wont get any better i don’t think that i can, but the thought of leaving her hurts too much to contemplate but if she will do nothing to improve her condition other than listen to the doctors who are just pumping her full of the wrong pills i don’t see any other solution….

I get a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis at least once a year sometimes I get yeast infections more often. I’m only having sex with one guy, he’s been my only partner for a year and a half. I’m on depo and I think that may play a role in the reoccurring infections. Is there any causes I may be over looking?

I have had this itching vagina problem for 2months now and have tried everything! I have been swab tested by the doc’s, got my results today and I am clear for thrush, bacterial vaginosis and all the similar infections they test for. They dont know what is causing it but my symptoms are redness, soreness, swelling, and severe itching.
At first I thought it was thrush so I tried canesten pessary, oral tablet, cream, even putting yoghurt on the area, and having a bath in baking soda! nothing helped. I have also tried ph balancing gel and use a ph balanced feminine wash instead of soap. I am very careful about personal hygeine also.
Since my test results were negative, the Dr. just prescribed me hydrocortisone cream, and a moisturising cream but I have tried both these things before and they do not help the problem, they may help temporarily only. I have tried to explain to my doc the seriousness of it and begged him to give me some stronger treatment like antibiotics but he won’t. I have told him how it is keeping me awake at night with the itching (and scratching only makes it worse) but he says this is all he can prescribe my test results have come back clear. Now I am going travelling for a month so cannot go back to the Doc’s again, and even if I could, he is no help.
Can anyone advise me what this could be? What can I do to relieve it?

I think I have bacterial vaginosis or an STD. I have been having sex with my boyfriend for over a year so I doubt I received it from sexual contact. It could be from wearing thongs, but I’m not entirely sure.
In October, I had a discharge that was whitish and an odor that smelled awful, like fish. I was so self conscious about it for a whole month that I left my boyfriend because I was too embarrassed. (It’s fine. He was leaving far away to college anyway.)
Then a month later, the smell changed to a more soury odor and the itching started. There is no visual evidence anywhere other than the discharge.
What do I have?
What can I do to prevent it?
I’d prefer not going to the doctor because my parents are very strict and I am only 17.
Is there any home remedies or things I can buy at like Walmart or something to treat this?
PLEASE HELP!?

Doctors don’t know what to tell me when I get it and I really would not want to be on antibiotics too much… It doesn’t bother me but I’m self conscious about the odor.

Women can get bacterial vaginosis, so can men get it, too? Will they exhibit symptoms? Can women give it to men? Can men give it to women? If you both have it, does it need to be treated at the same time?
