What does it feel like and what are the symptoms?
Does it hurt when you have intercourse?

Recently I went to the gynecologist because I have an infection. My boyfriend noticed today that when he uses the restroom, his penis touches the inside of the toilet seat, and toilet bowl even. I know the toilet is teaming with bacteria, and I’m wondering whether having sex with him moved that bacteria inside of me. Gross, right? I’m speechlessly disgusted. Please help me out. Smart remarks are unnecessary.

Bacterial Vaginosis : (BV) is the name of a condition in women where the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina is disrupted and replaced by an overgrowth of certain bacteria. It is sometimes accompanied by discharge, odor, pain, itching, or burning.

I am not sexually active but the other day I used this really strong shower gel and it irritaated my skin.
A few days later i noticed a change in my discharge, ‘down there’.
I thought it was thrush so i used thrush tablets but it still didn’t go away.
From what i have read i’m pretty sure it’s BV.
this is embarassing for me because i’m in my late teens and i don’t want to go to the doctor because they have to swab me.
Does anyone know of any good treatments because I’m really unhappy with this.
and, I have no pain or anything, no bleeding. Just a change in discharge.

because diflucan is for a yeast infection, and the dr said that is ok for me to take, but i have a bacterial infection! i dont want to have to bottlefeed and then pump and dump for 14 days while i take a medicine..

I’ve taken several courses of metriozanole, used aci get, used a hydrogen peroxide douche for 1-2 weeks, inserted lacto bacillis capsules, washed with summer’s eve, ingested lacto bacillis capsules.
I’ve been to the doctor at least 30 times. I’m thinking about using an acidic douche next. I’ve taken folic acid by mouth. Nothing appears to be working. I don’t want to quit my job because of the smell.
What can I do?

I’ve been with one partern only and I have a discharge its kind of milky and has a bad bad odor….its is white to grayish…. I think I might have it…but Im still waiting for my Pap smear results…my question is have you had it? what were your symptoms? any complivcations? thanks…..

I have been on Flagyl for about 4 days, I am taking 2 pills/day. Last night I took my 2nd dose for the day and about 35 mins later I threw up, I did not take another pill, this morning I took my first dose for the day and I threw up about 30 mins after taking it when i got to work, I took another one just to be safe so I’m not going to far w/o it in my system.

Does anyone know if me throwing it up twice will mess up the whole process of getting rid of this Bacterial Vaginitis? should I call and ask my Dr for 2 additional pills??

I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis last year (had some odor and discharge and sometimes an awful burning feeling down there) when I went for my annual exam…and gawd, when she put the speculum inside me and did the Pap smear, it honestly felt like she was shoving shards of glass in there! It’s felt like that for me for years, seemingly regardless of when in my cycle I went for the exam (or am I just too tense?). The doctor never did say how severe my case was (nor did she tell me what I had and if it was severe or not).

How do you get BV, though – has BV been linked to use of tampons, body lotion being put on your upper inner thighs… I’ve never douched in my entire life, I’m not sexually active, I don’t use body washes in that area, and I’m pretty careful about not getting too close to that area when putting lotion on. Does eating yogurt help to prevent it?
