I’ve had recurrent BV (bacterial vaginitis) for years, my dr’s seem to think it has nothing to do w/me not getting pregnant.. I however beg to differ.. one reason is b/c it makes CM hostile to sperm and I’ve also read it can lead to PID and/or damaged fallopian tubes. Has anyone battled with this and/or was able to conceive or not? I’m really worried I will never be able to have children w/o IUI or Invitro we have been TTC over 2/5 yrs.. any advice??
Thanks! atleast there are some people who understand how frustrating this is. Lisa, keep me posted and let me know if u get any new info, I think I need to switch Dr’s as well b/c mine doesn’t seem to think it’s as serious as I do.. Plus I’m the one sufferring and she doesn’t understand.. SO thanks! and keep me posted definitely!! hopefully we will find an answer!!

i had a lot of protected (condoms) sex for a week straight as well as using my vibrator the entire week too. since i used a condom i dont think its an std or anything, but at the entryway to my vagina itches. i have white discarge but i ALWAYS have bad discharge. could all the sex and masterbation have cause either a yeast infection or bacteria vaginosis, or even something else?

I am 8 weeks 4 days pregnant and I have been experiencing a light yellow discharge. I’m not sure, but I think it started 4 days ago. I thought I may have had some yellow discharge starting about 3 weeks ago, but I never could really tell, but it used to be mostly clear, but now I am definitely having a yellowish discharge. No odor, no burning or pain. Is this normal? I called my doctors office and was told as long as I didn’t have burning or irritation, or odor it is normal. I am not completely convinced. I did have a pap smear just the day before this yellow discharge became obvious. I am guessing the results wre normal at that point since they didn’t contact me back about it. I am a nervous wreck with this pregancy. My last ended in miscarriage at 5 weeks. Also, I know bacterial vaginosis can cause miscarriage, yet they make you wait until you are in 2nd trimester before taking the medication for it. At this point am i increased chance for miscarriage if it is BV?

I had Bacterial Vaginosis and I started taking acidophilus tablets a couple of days ago. It worked great, I still have minor symptoms but they’re clearing up fast. Should I continue to take them even when the symptoms are gone???

Ok so just recently on Monday I had my first trip to the gynecologist and this is my first time meeting this doctor, so there’s no patient/doctor relationship between us. He tells me that it looks like I have bacterial vaginosis and I’m thinking is this why I’ve had so many other problems like UTI & a pelvic infection? I’m just now learning what that is exactly and I’m asking myself how long have I had this because I remember back in 9th grade or so, I’ve noticed an odor & discharge from my vaginal area. It really bothered me, the odor made me feel uncomfortable and I tried talking to my mom about it but she didn’t seem too concerned about it and I couldn’t go to a gynecologists. No matter how much I clean, the odor is there & discharge (sometimes discharge is a lot).
The doctor prescribed some antibiotics called Flagyl (the most horrible thing ever) and they’re not fitting well with my body at all. I have other issues going on like tingling in hands or leg sometimes, feeling like I might pass out or whatever, terrible anxiety and stress and I HATE the thought of taking anymore antibiotics because they all give me terrible heartburn. Even though the doctor said it shouldn’t bother my heartburn but it set me way back with my heartburn. Which I’m taking prevacid as well & those side effects are already enough, I’m not one who likes foreign things (pills) to be in my body all the time. THERE HAS TO BE another way to treat bacterial vaginosis & the health of your vagina??
i.e. like some kind of prescribed creams, over the counter creams, feminine soaps, natural treatments, just anything

My sister went in for a regular pap smear the other day and was given a prescription for bacterial vaginosis. She has begun taking the medicine but it is making her sick. The medicine she was given is called Flagyl. Is there any other medicine out there that she can take to cure this infection? Something that she doesn’t have to take orally and that won’t make her so sick would help.

So for the last two week I noticed my vagina discharged has been smelling fishy & stronger than usually When I slightly open my legs I could smell it. It’s so embarrassing & school is about to start. My boyfriend even told me. We haven’t had sex for like 2 month but he has fingered me. It doesn’t itch nor is it red. I recently ended my period & I thought the smell had gone away but it returned today again. I would go to the doctor but I smoked weed this weekend, I know not a smart choice but I’m not doing it again. I’m a 17 years old female. I want to go to the doctors but would my parents find out I smoked? What happens when you go get checked? Do you have any home-remedies that works? Is there anything I can buy at a drug store? Please help me & don’t be rude

think it could be endometriosis. A little history here-I’m 36, I’ve had 2 c-sections, I had a tubal ligation during my last c-section 5 yrs. ago. I really haven’t had any problems up until 2 months ago except for a couple of bacterial vaginosis infections caused by using tampons. So I wait a month to get in to a OBGYN. He takes my symptoms, which are really heavy periods, and the painful sex and examines me. He seems to think I had an ovarian cyst which is now going away. When he pressed on my abdomen, it hurt really bad. He puts me on Yaz, the pill, and says that should help. He says to come back in 3 months, and if my problems are not gone, then they might start thinking endometriosis and laproscopy. Well, I’ve been on Yaz for 2 wks. now, the painful sex has not gone away, I’m still hopeful this will help. I know the pill is also supposed to help ovarian cysts from forming. Has anyone else experienced these same symptoms? It just seems like there is something else going on to. They tested me for venereal diseases, and it was negative. My pap test came back fine. Please help-does this happen in your mid-late 30’s?

I’ve been having this trouble since last February! Having sex all of a sudden became painful and directly afterward, my vaginal walls feel like they are burning and sometimes itchy. Any clue?
I don’t have health insurance but thought I could go to the health department, any idea if they would look at this sort of thing/how to make an appointment?
thanks!
