I get frequent BV infections. I do not like prescription medications as i feel they merely treat the symptoms and don’t cure the problem. I’m curious to know if anyone has some alternative methods worth trying.

I began taking an acidophilus/probiotic supplement from Trader Joe’s and after a month or so developed a bacterial infection. I know that the supplement is good for fending off yeast infections but what is the supplements relation to bacterial infections? Could an overgrowth of good bacteria cause a bacterial infection?

I had Bacterial Vaginosis couple of months ago. I was given 14 Metrodizonale tablets and I admit I didn’t really follow the instructions that well, I did miss a couple of doses from time to time. But it did work and eventually cleared up. Two weeks ago I have noticed it has come back though the discharge is not heavy as before. Its just a little yellow with that same fishy smell. Is this normal? Im a virgin btw.

Do you know any good ones?
douching or RePhresh don’t help?
I had it three weeks ago, and the prescription medicine didn’t really help.

I have a never ending battle with BV, I try home remedies and eating alot of yogurt but nothing ever seems to help. I happened to have a leftover rx for Cephalexin and I was wondering if I could use it to save a trip to the doctor.

or do you need to go to your gp and get a prescription for antibiotics to get rid of bacterial vaginosis infection…?
Or anyone know anything that could help treat it, that I could buy from a pharmacy or supermarket or just easy places like that?
thanks
