Is flagyl for bacterial vaginosis over the counter?

How will i know if i have a yeaster infection or BV? What are yeast infection symptoms? I have a fishy odor down there during/after sex. Also white/grey/clear discharge. Sometimes itching. Which one is it more than likely? Are the symptoms the same? And can i purchase Flagyl for BV over the counter without a prescription in Virgina?

In your vagina live both good and bad bacteria.
Most conventional treatments such as Antibiotics and Anti-fungals upset the natural balance of bacteria in your vagina.

No seriously, you can not purchase ANY anti-biotic over the counter. Metronidazol/flagyl is very strong, and probably expensive. My dog used to have to take it for infections.
Flagyl is not available OTC, which I hate, because I constantly get BV and my dr. keeps making me submit to a damn pelvic exam just to get the medication. If your discharge is grayish it may be BV. Go get it checked out, you will need the prescription for Flagyl.
