My doc told me today at my first prenatal exam that she found bacterial vaginosis but she doesn’t want to treat it in early pregnancy?? I didn’t even know I had it, I show no symtoms. She said she will prescribe me meds when I come back in four weeks to my next apt. Can I still have sex? What can I do in the mean time to make it go away?

You shouldn’t have sex until you get it cured. Also, bacterial vaginosis can cause complications during your pregnancy.
You should cure it as soon as possible.
try buying probiotics and taking it orally twice a day.you can get it over the counter at any pharmacy. its a natural product that will not interfere with your pregnancy in any way. it worked great for me. doctors normally treat it with antibiotics, that’s why your doctor doesn’t want to treat you whilst pregnant. but it can be a real nuisance, i know that!
probiotics worked wonders for me as i had tried clearing mine THREE times with antibiotics but it kept coming back. it was driving me to the point of insanity!
they come in capsules so you can also try opening up a capsule and inserting the powder in your vagina every night before going to sleep.
it worked for me. the symptoms should start subsiding within a week or so.
goodluck
lol this is normal i suffer with bv from time to time it is nothing dirty or a sexually. it is due to perfumed bubble baths or over washing the reason being the doc wont give u meds yet is because they will have to prescribe antibiotics and to make sure its a safe time while pregnant you can still have sex but doc`s recommend not to till its cleared but avoid perfumed baths spraying below but really there is nothing to worry about and congrates
I think your doctor is trying to avoid prescribing antibiotics to treat your bacterial vaginosis since you are in early pregnancy. Some women could just get rid of BV even without medications. Anyhow, even if you are in later stage of pregnancy, I still think it’s better to use natural treatment rather than antibiotics treatment.
There are reports that a lot of women suffering from bacterial vaginosis (BV) and using antibiotics’ treatment would experience either recurrent of BV or yeast infection not long after their antibiotics’ treatment.
BV is actually happened because of the imbalance state of "good" and "bad" bacteria in the vagina. The use of antibiotics could even kill more of "good" bacteria. That’s why BV reoccurs, and this condition also allows the vagina to be more susceptible for the yeast infection to grow.
Natural treatment aims to strengthen the immune system in the body, so it can restore the bacterial balance in the vagina in natural way, with less or no side effect.
