If you have bacterial vaginosis, can it be spread to your partner dring sex & do you have to get treated?

Can I give it to my boyfriend and does he have to get treated. I’m currently taking my treatment.

Yes it can be transmitted. Your partner should be tested and possibly treated too. Otherwise he’ll just give it back to you and it will keep going.

It is not necessary for your sexual partner(s) to be treated
Bacterial vaginosis (BV), is caused by an imbalance in the bacteria normally found in the vagina, and only affects women.
Male partners do not need to be treated for BV, but BV may spread between women who have sex with women.
This means that if you have BV and you have a female sex partner, your partner may have BV too.
