i keep getting bacterial vaginosis and have been treated like ten times already they give me flagyl everytime?

Everytime i go to the the doctor they give me the same medication but it dosesnt seem to work cause i still have the same symptoms the first couple of times it did work but now it doesnt what can i do?

Had a friend who had this trouble she went to a chiropractic who did a hair test on her then put her on a strict diet no starches sugar a lot of stuff but now after having put up with her trouble for years she has not had any trouble in over two years
Have your partner treated as well.
first off, definitely have your partner checked.
then either see a different doctor or explain to the doctor you see now that the flagyl is simply not working and that you should be given something else and "if you refuse to try something else, i will leave your practice and see another doctor"
1. You and your partner both require meds.
2. Avoid using antibacterial soaps down there, only sensitive soaps like Dove sensitive and not very often at that. Some rinsing with water is fine. Also, no deuching.
3. You and your partner epsecially should always wash before sex.

BV is treatable with antibiotics prescribed by a health care provider. Two different antibiotics are recommended as treatment for BV: metronidazole or clindamycin. Either can be used with non-pregnant or pregnant women, but the recommended dosages differ. Women with BV who are HIV-positive should receive the same treatment as those who are HIV-negative.
BV can recur after treatment.
In response to the person above: metronidazole is the generic name for Flagyl, so that is what this person has been given.
Most likely, you and your partner keep giving it back to each other. You BOTH need to be treated. I’m not sure about the resistance to metronidazole but it’d be worth asking your doctor about. However, it may be that you’ll both get flagyl and it’ll be fine, so long as you’re both cleared up at the same time. Are you in a monogamous relationship, or could it be that one (or both) of you are also seeing other people? That could definitely complicate things as then those partners would need to be treated as well.
