BV is a disruption of the normal bacterial flora in the vagina. Anaerobic organisms like Mobulincus and Aerobic organisms like Gardnerella become predominant. This is caused by douching, soaps, multiple partners, etc. But it is not an STD. You cannot transmit BV from person to person.

Bacteria Vaginosis (Candid Vaginosis) should not be a big concern. Anything can cause it. If you use the wrong soap, the wrong condoms, wear the wrong underwear, lubricants, dirty fingers, etc. It is mainly considered an over build of the good bacteria in your vagina that is trying to get rid of some foreign unwanted body in that area.

Most of the time any kind of unprotected sex can cause this as well. Just fromthe mans seretions mixing with your own. Some women are just also very sensitive in that "area". (I totally understand your pain).

Your best bet is to go to your OBGYN and get a pap and culture done. They will give you either metrogel or a antibiotic. Also, while you are there, it doesnt hurt to get tested for std's. It could very well be clamydia, which is harder to detect in men (hense why your husband may be clean but you are showing signs.) Just a thought...

but just go to your OBGYN and get it checked out and get a prescription. Over the counter items have never worked for me...so the best thing would be go to the doctor.
