FRUSTRATED, recurring Bacterial Vaginosis?
My fiance and I are just starting our lives together and now I feel like this recurring infection is ruining my life!
2 months ago I went to the doctor, tested for most STD’s, diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. Took clindamycin cream for 7 nights and it went away for 1 week. It came back and I went back to the doctor only to be tested for everything under the sun and all results were normal besides the BV. Then I did metronidazole gel for 5 nights. 1 week after the treatment and surprise surprise it’s back!
I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO! I feel like it will never go away. I can’t keep going to the doctor to spend money on worthless treatment.
Please, if any other lady has suffered with this, help me! It’s supposed to be a special time planning this wedding, but I’m constantly stressed with this infection.
Also, one of my worst fears in life is that I won’t be able to have kids. I don’t want this to cause any damage and leave me infertile.
All my symptoms go away with the medication they prescribe. But then the symptoms all come back in a matter of a week after the treatment is finished.

I would suggest you go and get a second opinion from another Doctor and see what they think the problem is.
I honestly think that there is something more going on here, as you have treated it with 2 different types of creams, so please do go and see a another Doctor about this.
Hi
Recurring bacterial vaginosis happens because bacterial vaginosis antibiotics merely suppress the symptoms of the vaginal infection. Medicines do not help to get rid of the root cause of the infection. A vaginal pH imbalance is the prime cause of bv in most women. Hence unless you make use of cures which restore the ph balance you will keep getting the infection again and again.
If left untreated for long bv can cause fertility issues. In case you seek prompt and timely treatment it will not affect your chances of conceiving.
