Did your doctor do an ultrasound to arrive at your "enlarged uterus" dx? Or is it just suspicion based on exams? An enlarged uterus can be attributed to fibroids, adenomyosis, Endometriosis, scarring from previous surgery or infection, hormonal changes throughout the month (i.e., the size will increase and decrease throughout your cycle), or other conditions ranging from benign to malignant. If you are concerned, insist that further diagnostics are performed to ensure an accurate diagnosis and subsequent effective treatment based on the condition. Good luck and feel better. I was given Flagyl aka FULCONAZOLE for the bacterial infection and METRONIDAZOLE for the yeast infection? Hummm.... Yes, I also had an enlarged uterus and several times they thought I was pregnant when I knew I wasn't. I ended up having 8 D&C's starting at age 9 and finally a hysterectomy at 28 because they couldn't control the bleeding. Good Luck. Being female really sticks sometimes.
