Could a yeast infection cause bacterial vaginosis?
A month ago i had yeast infection, and then got my period and it seemed that it went away. i had intercourse with my bf, but it hurt really bad so we stopped. I thought that it was probably the yeast infection so i took monistat 7. Then we tried it again after i had finished with the treatment and it still hurt. I don’t itch anymore, and the only symptoms i have is painful intercourse and really watery discharge. what is this????

I’m sorry to hear about your problems. I know these symptoms can be really annoying and disruptive…
I’ve not really heard of a yeast infection causing Bacterial Vaginosis, though the way you treat a yeast infection could lead to Bacterial Vaginosis.
One tip you absolutely need to be aware of is that you should use a condom every time you have sex. Your partner could carry the yeast infection or even Bacterial Vaginosis, then reinfect you later.
If you do have Bacterial Vaginosis, you would probably notice a "fishy" odor and have a thin white/gray discharge. Sounds like you have something different.
Do your best to treat this holistically–eat right, get enough sleep, avoid alcohol and smoking…
Do your best to support your immune system so that it can fight on your behalf.

No, usually a yeast infection doesn’t lead to a bacterial infection. However, you boyfriend could be passing something back and forth between you.
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
Signs of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
An unpleasant odor
Pain and itching when urinating
Most apparent after your period
Hi,
I am always impressed that there is oftentimes some good advice and good links from people helping others through Yahoo_Answers.
It is more likely than not – that a WRONG medical diagnosis will be made by listening to the advice of novices via Yahoo_Answers.
I would strongly encourage you to become a ‘good’ diagnostician for yourself, and to also seek out a ‘good’ doctor or a ‘good’ nurse and s/he will make a medical diagnosis and thoroughly explain the causes preventions and solutions much better than anyone on Yahoo_Answers could do without being able to see you personally.
My best to you,
A1
