I went to my dr and was diagnosed with gonorrhea. He gave me a treatment of 4 antibiotics to take all at once. I hadn’t taken them yet because I thought maybe there was an error. So I wento to another dr for the same test. While waiting a week for their results, I just took the first dr’s treatment. Then, the other dr called and confirmed that I did have gonorrhea, and told me to come in for an injection treatment. So I was injected as well. Also, the second dr had given me other medication (mez.. something??) for bacterial vaginosis, so I am still taking those. Will it harm me to have taken the 4 pill antibiotics, the shot as well as the pills for bacterial vag. ?

I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis, which helped create cervicitis. I was prescribed Azithromycin (which I took 4 pills immediately) for the cervicitis, then the next day started on my week-long, 2 pills once daily treatment of Metronidazole. I have one more pill then I am done.

My symptoms have gone, and my vagina appears back to normal.
How long must I wait after treatment to receive oral sex from my partner?

I am female.
This is the first time I’ve ever been diagnosed with these STIs or have taken antibiotics.
If anything, may I resume oral sex after treatment (let’s say, a day after taking my last pill, just for extra measures), or for ANOTHER week?

From research on the internet, all I get is "after treatment" but how sure can I be?

I posted previously describing symptoms of thrush. its been a week now and i’ve tried the canesten pessary, the oral capsule and the cream. I finally went to the nurse who suggested i may have bacterial vaginosis as a secondary infection. She prescribed 2 400g metrocanizole tablets per day. Have any of you had success with this treatment? I couldn’t bear to take these for a week (which make me nauseous) only to have no improvement.

I am twelve and i have been getting a burning feeling for two months. i have had 4 urinary tests, and one blood test and it has all come clean. I have been on three different prescription pills for yeast, and three different yeast cream treatments. The first time i did the cream i did the 7 day treatment and i could find where to put it up so i just put it around the area. the second time i did a 3 day treatment and the little buttery thing kept on slipping out. The third time i did the cream the doctor said that I should just put it on the outside of the area because it was so inflamed. Last time I went to the doctor she told me that it looked like i had a yeast infection. she did a swab test and said that i had bacterial vaginosis and yeast infection. She gave me some pills for
the vaginosis and the third yeast cream. She also gave me a pill that turns my pee a orange color. Now i am done with it and it is still burning down the air. the doctor did another swab test and said that the vaginosis was gone but the yeast was still there. she gave me another yeast pill and now i am on the second day of that pill but the burning doesnt seem to be getting better! i dont know what to do and i dont want this to still be burning when school starts in three days. i havent started my period yet. also i am not getting any itching just burning and i am also getting some creamy colored discharge. please help me. is there any way i could cure this quickly?

I was having vaginal discomfort…no burning, but a light brownish discharge and mild itching for a few days. I went to the urgent care and they took a urine sample and performed a urinalysis. Based on that, they said it’s bacterial vaginosis and prescribed a 7 day oral treatment. I asked the nurse if the doc was going to swab…she said no, they’ll test for chlamydia and gonorrhea by sending urine sample to the lab. I’m going to make an appt with my regular doctor as well. My question is …has anyone every experienced this, or just had a urine sample taken in a case like this??

20 year old female, chronic thrush sufferer.
MARRIED, tend to develop thrush symtoms day after intercourse.

became very noticible when bouts of thrush became more intense and more frequent.

It began from a thrush infection, petri dish results came back from the lab specifying that i had a "heavy overgrowth of candida albicans", this was almost 3 weeks ago.

For many years from ages 14-till now (20) i have suffered from reoccuernt bouts of thrush, usually minor enough to be treated by 6 day course of canesten cream and which always clears up after treatment.

I was just routinely tested for clamidyia, herpes virus 1 and 2, hiv, bacterial vaginosis, uti (urinary tract in fection) and they all came back negative. (A HEAVY OVERGROWTH OF CANDIDA ALBICANS) was THE CULPRIT.

i dont smoke or drink, am not on the pill, i dont have diabetes but i do suffer from stress and anxiety and hypoglycemia as well as love my chocolate and coffee a little too much.

i wear cotton undies, dont wash my vagina with anything other than water, i both eat yoghurt and apply it topically. i am taking inner health plus capsules every day to help my body build up its good bacteria. i eat a lot of garlic, am now bathing in baths containing apple cider vinigar and baking soda.

i am now boiling my water, drinking more than 2 litres a day and cutting out all suger, caffeine and antibiotic containing foods such as red meat chicken, eggs and naturally ALL YEAST CONTAINING PRODUCTS.

i am up to my wits end with pain when i pass urine even though i have been tested for a UTI twice now and they both came back negative. i have a CONSTANT BURNING SENSATION on the outsie lips of my vulva that periodically worsens in bouts of varying intentisity.

BUT THE BURNING IS ALWAYS THERE!!!.

i am going to see a specialist however, the doctors are saying that i should be sitting on their side of the desk consisdering i have researched so much to help myself but they just prescribe one treatment at a time to no avail.

TREATMENTS I HAVE USED
i have used canesoral duo (oral capsule and topical cream) 3 days later no improvement, canesten 3 day cream, 3 days later no improvement, visit to the doctor again prescribed NILSTAT for a course of 14 days, burning began to get worse whilst using the cream so i stopped went to a different doctor and was prescribed orzole oral capsule and canesten 6 day pessary (the ones u insert in the vagina) no improvement. so back to the doctor and was prescribed boric acid (14 day course).

Am currently on my 4th day of treatment and symptoms have remained the same-constant burning-worse when i URINATE-fluctuaing in levels of intensity. i am extreamily depressed and have suicidal thoughts.

on top of this my anxiety is playing up and making it terribly hard to keep up with anything in my daily life. i have drastically changed my diet to kill the candida yeast and am taking antifungal herbal teas from the naturopath to help elliminate the fungal infection in my body.

i am suffering really bad withdrawal symptoms for sugar and coffee which is only making the process worse. i feel as though the doctors have not a clue about how to really help or treat reoccurent thrush infections and that really brings out my anxiety and fear levels further.

i feel really alone. it is ruining my sex life, my social life, my studies, my work and my will to live.

the fact that i have tried all these treatments and still no relief makes me think is it possible to burn myself with the amount of differnt treatments i have used? AND HENCE THE BURNING SENSATION NOW?

then i think its not possible because my body would have healed itself now if that was the case.

could i have possibly cut myself when pushing the dry applicator into my vagina and irritated it?

i was GOOGLING CONSTANT VAGINAL BURNING and reaults came back about a condition called VULVODYNIA where for some unknown reason a womans vagina is constantly irritated, burning and sore.

apparently the doctors dont know much about that condition either and only prescribe antidepresents anyway.

apparently reoccurent vaginal yeast infections (thrush) can bring VULVODYNIA) ON.

does any one have any INTRICATE advice about reoccurent thrush infections and CONSTANT VAGINAL BURNING?

i hope i have described my history thouroghly enough.

I just went in and got diagnosed with BV yesterday, so I have my MetroGel and am beginning treatment tonight. However, an issue I am concerned with was the reaction to sexual stimulation. The other night before I went in, when I was with my boyfriend (not having sex, just foreplay), I realized I just couldn’t get "wet". Is that a symptom of BV or is there something else wrong with me? Any experience/input is appreciated. Also, I am 22, so it is not pre-menopause symptoms.

I have been struggling with this infection for over a year now and would like some input. About a week after a sexual encounter I started having symptoms of severe discharge (has the consistency of snot) and pelvic cramps (severe also) Got tested for everything (gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV, all the hepatitis’s and even diabetes!) and everything came back negative. I continued to see this doctor who said I had bacterial vaginosis and treated me with Metronidazole. I had to take 4 different treatments of Metronidazole before switching doctors because the symptoms weren’t changing. This new doctor tested me and said I had Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma and placed me on Metronidazole and I believe Azithromycin for a week with no success! The pain is started to move to my lower back and now I’m having ’spasm’ like pains where it feels like someone is pinching my ovaries, acne, oily face, mood swings, fatigue…the list goes on. I went in for an ultrasound about a week ago and the lady who preformed it said that my ovaries were really close to my uterus and if I’ve ever heard of endometriosis. When I saw my doctor right after that she said that my ovaries were close to the uterus, but really nothing to be concerned about. I am now on a 2 week course of antibiotics (Clindamycin 4 times a day & Doxycycline 2 times a day) and am halfway through the treatment with STILL no results. My question is…if this antibiotic was working, shouldn’t I have seen some improvement by now? The doctor said I might want to consider a laproscopy (hope I spelled that right) to get a better look inside there. Has anyone had to deal with this before? Is mycoplasma and ureaplasma this hard to cure??? Thank you!
I would just ask the guy, but it was a rape and I have no clue who it is. I just thought I’d be safe and test for everything ender the sun…but this mycoplasma and ureaplasma is kicking my butt! I just wanted to know if anyone had info on it, or has struggled with it.

Ok I have bacteria vaginosis and I am using the apple cider vinegar treatment. I want to know how long before I can have sex? It says that symptoms mostly are gone in a day but how long before it is all clear.
