I was two weeks late starting my period (started today), but i started having cramps at the normal time. also, i’ve had other symptoms such as sore breasts and being tired. I am definitely not pregnant — i thought i was but the blood test was negative. i had a faint pos home test, but i looked later & it was close to expiring and may not have been stored ideally. Also, I don’t know if this is relavent, but i am in the middle of being treated for bacterial vaginosis, and several months ago I found out I had trichomonas & was treated, along with my husband (whom I’ve been monogomouse with since we got together 15 months ago. also, this is my first cycle off the pill, so i’m thinking that would be most likely to be affecting it. but the fact that i’ve been cramping for over 2 weeks doesn’t seem right. could it be a sign of a condition, or is it just my body trying to get itself back on track after being on the pill for over a year? why the cramping for so long? (& it’s not severe or anything, just normal cramps) anyone know?

I had the Mirena IUD for about 7 months and got Bacterial Vaginosis and a yeast infection. The symptoms lasted the whole 7 months I had it, but I didn’t know what it was at the time. I then got the IUD removed and was put on Flagyl. My symptoms immediately improved (that was last June).

However, I started a new birth control pill about 6 weeks ago, but stopped taking it after the first pack. It was then I noticed some of the BV symptoms again. I can’t really tell if it’s BV though because I don’t have a strong odor or anything, but I just have increased white discharge and a mild smell.

I did the Vagisil screening kit and it said my pH was about 5.0-5.5.
Oh, and I’ve been with my bf for over 4 years and we are completely monogamous. So please no rude comments.

I have been having white chalky discharge from time to time for as long as I can remember. I assume it’s probably from my birth control and just a normal thing. I’ve been tested a bunch of times and I have always been clean. I had bacterial vaginosis once but I had no symptoms I just found out at a routine gyno visit and she gave me some antibiotics. I’m not worried but my boyfriend seems grossed out and I just wanna double-check that I’m fine.

My parents said they don’t wanna take me to the doctors. Cause they want me to buy the medicine over the counters first to see if my infection will go away but if it doesn’t go away then they’ll take me to the doctors. The problem is I don’t know whether or not I have yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis. Can you help me? This is my symptoms: Fishy odor and cottage cheese discharge (sometimes its yellow).

I took an antibiotic to get rid of it. It seemed to be better for a few weeks and has come back. The only real symptom of it that I have is a stabbing pain to my right ovary. I’ve been checked for other things such as cysts, but the doctor never found anything. A Doctor at planned parenthood finally diagnosed me with Bacterial Vaginosis. Is there something else that can cause stabbing pain in my ovary? and other than antibiotics, if it is bacterial vaginosis, how to I deal with the pain until it finally goes away? Please help =[

periods? I was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis a month ago and I had to take pills to get rid of it. I don’t think it ever went away. I’m still itching, but not as bad. Also, I don’t have any symptoms of any kind of discharge. I also think I may have been wrongfully diagnosed. I’m hopeing that whatever I have won’t set me infertile. That would totally ruin my life.

So I’m 14 weeks pregnant and found out that I had BV so I was prescribed Flagyl for 7 days. Well the day that I got my presciption filled, before I even started taking the pills, I started feeling very itchy down there, something I never felt the whole time I was waiting for the results back to see if I had BV. I have been taking the Flagyl and have a doctors appointment scheduled for Monday but the symptoms have gotten worse. It seems the BV is clearing up, as I was having a fishy odor before that is now gone, but now I’m itchy and burning down there. I’ve never had a yeast infection so I don’t know what they are like but I’ve had thicker discharge, I wouldn’t really say it’s like cottage cheese, just thick and it doesn’t smell fishy or particularly bad, it just smells the way I would imagine "yeast" to smell. I am absolutely miserable, not only is our sex life suffering because of this but I can’t sleep at night and I don’t even want to go anywhere because my lady parts are so uncomfortable. : ( Can anyone tell me before I get the chance to talk to my doctor what this is and what I can do to treat it, being pregnant and on medication for BV already?
