I have a lot to say but i will condense my history with this issue as much as I can! I went to my OBGYN around 7 years ago and was told I have trichonomas. I took the meds and was back in the doctor with the same symptoms and was then diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. I have since had reaccuring bacterial vaginosis over the last 7 years. I have tried every type of med orally and vaginally and that hasn’t completely gotten rid of this. I had a cryo surgery performed to see if that might work..it didn’t and I ended up having an ectopic pregnancy due to this issue. I don’t know what else to try and i’m getting worried i will have to suffer with this embarrassment for the rest of my life! Would a change in my diet help..any suggestions or sincere advice would be so appreciated right now..i’m feeling hopeless and gross!!

Hi I have had a few problems in this area for 4 years now. Im 20 and it makes me sooo depressed.

Well I have suffered from Thrush most of the time. They have tested me a number of times and it has come back as this. They have tested me a MILLION times for any sti’s or std’s etc. All clear!

I have experienced pain during sex and bleeding. I was told my cervix cells are eroding and its not a problem. I was then also diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries after four years of being fobbed off.

The thing is everything is making sense now. Apart from the fact I have thrush all the time. I have tried everything to get rid of it for good! I was thinking maybe I could have Bacterial Vaginosis? As I do experience mild symptoms. I was just wondering if anyone would know how you are diagnosed for this? And also that my tests that came back as thrush, could it be BV instead but not show up. Im so fed up, Ive seen so many doctors and got nowhere. It took me 4 years for them to decide to check me for PCOS. And now my thrush I feel like its gonna take 8 years to get this sorted!! =(

Does anyone have any experiences that may help my situation? Any information that may help me? I will go back to the doctors but they just test me again for infections and then send me away with thrush tablets again and again. What the hell is wrong with me? =(
I did ask my doctor to refer me to a gynecologist, but he said to try the pessaries and tablets and this cream stuff he gave me. But everytime i go back he just tells me to take more of them.
Thanks for your answer. I will demand I am referred as its getting ridiculous, they are obsessed with checking me for sexually transmitted diseases even when i tell them Im not sexually active anymore. Your info has helped me =)

I get frequent BV infections. I do not like prescription medications as i feel they merely treat the symptoms and don’t cure the problem. I’m curious to know if anyone has some alternative methods worth trying.

I just found out I have bacterial vaginosis but I dont feel like my symptoms match.

Is it possible to have BV but get these stomach cramps? And during my exam my cervix was red, is that still possible?

Also they said theyre sending me a topical cream.

I just want to make sure that when they say BV they mean the kind thats naturally occuring and not Trich, which is an std. In which case my boyfriend would need to get treated.

So I’m a very clean person, I shower everyday, and if not everyday then every other day.

I googled some of the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, and it seems like the only symptom I have is that BAD ODOR.
I will literally come out of the shower, and the next hour I have a fishy odor.

I have not had sex, ever so its not an STD.

I really don’t want to go to the doctors, so what over the counter medication would you recommend?
Also can it do harm if I don’t really have BV, and I’m using creams for it?

i think i may have either one of the two infections and a little apprehensive about visiting a doctor even though i think ive had the symptoms for quite some time (itching, discharge etc)

How will i know if i have a yeaster infection or BV? What are yeast infection symptoms? I have a fishy odor down there during/after sex. Also white/grey/clear discharge. Sometimes itching. Which one is it more than likely? Are the symptoms the same? And can i purchase Flagyl for BV over the counter without a prescription in Virgina?
