I have recently been told I had an abnormal smear result and I have been referred for a colposcopy. I am not worried about the procedure, I am just so scared that I might have cancer! I was so worried that I called a private hospital to book the colposcopy privately. The senior gynaecologist spoke to me and said he would get a copy of my results from the lab and call back. When he called me back he said that I had MODERATE changes but no signs of cancer cells and that I should not bother paying to go privatley and just to wait for the NHS appointment (which he is taking as he also works NHS clinics). So I felt thoroughly reassured, but as the weeks have passed I seem to be having yeast/bacterial vaginosis symptoms and I cant work out if i am imagining this as i am paranoid. Either way despite the gynaecologist telling me not to pay to come for an appointment earlier I am still concerned about the two month wait. Help? Advice please??

okay, so i’m very concerned! i am seventeen years old, if that even matters? i went to my gynecologist and told her that i THOUGHT i might have bacterial vaginosis. [symptoms: creamy discharge, fishy smell, and during sex.. it sometimes either smelled fishy or like urine.]

i told her that i had a creamy discharge and about the fishy smell. i did not tell her about how it smelled like urine during sex because my mother was in the room and that was a bit awkward.

she ran a test and told me it was NOT bacterial vaginosis and in fact, it was a yeast infection. she gave me a cream. called terconazole. i was directed to use this for seven nights. so i did.

it’s been exactly a week since i’ve last used it. [the seventh day.] and i’m not sure if the yeast infection is gone? because unfortunately, i got my period ON the last day i used it. the yeast infection was never itchy.. so i wouldn’t know if it’s cleared up.

TODAY, my period is done. no creamy discharge.. so, me and my boyfriend had sex. [i know, sorry.] and the urine smell was still there. no fishy smell. URINE! and i know it is NOT the fact that sometimes a little urine comes out during ejaculation because i had an empty bladder.

before this yeast infection, it ALWAYS smelled normal when we had sex.

i also drink A LOT of sodas. and i hate water. hardly drink the stuff. at all. could it be a bladder infection? and how did my doctor not see it?

note: about five months ago i THINK i had a bladder infection.. i never went to the doctor for it. ever. but it was as if i ALWAYS had to go pee and when i did; my bladder never felt like it completely got emptied. it was a terrible feeling. it also smelled icky. when i drank a lot of water it cleared up. BUT then i started drinking a lot of sodas again and completely fell back into the same routine with never drinking any water. PLUS, i hold my pee a lot for a very long time during school. could i have possibly fked up my bladder?

i really hope for some good answers because i JUST went to the doctor. i will soon visit her again but til then, i want some ideas? i hope i didn’t mess up my bladder because i don’t want it to smell like that forever.

i also know it’s not any kind of std because my boyfriend and i both were checked. together, at the same time.

What happens if you leave BV (bacterial vaginosis) untreated? I started having symptoms back in December and ignored them until now because they’re very annoying and I’ve just put the pieces together. I wonder if there’s any permanent damage or issues with leaving it so long? Thanks!

I had swabs come back an i got a BV.. The main symptom was the ba odour has anybody ever had this prescribed and does the awful smell go away.. I really hope it does.. !! Thanks

I don’t have health insurance, so I’m seeing if anyone has had similar symptoms that I have. My crotch smells bad, I have excess discharge and it is a bit greenish…. Is it bacterial vaginosis or something else?

Ok so for about a week I have been have an extremely irritated, dry, and itchy vajayjay. Well today I looked and there was white chunks all on it, and I thought that it was the hydro cortisone that I had put on it earlier, for the itching. Well I just went to the bathroom again, and I looked and there were the same chunks, and I wiped them with a cottonelle flush-able wet wipe, and it kinda looked like wet toilet paper, but I hadn’t used toilet paper the last time I went potty and I wiped clean, so it is not tp. Anyone know what this is? Probably a yeast infection? I thought that I had a yeast infection before, but it was no way like this. There is no creamy discharge, just these chunks? I also heard that my symptoms might be bacterial vaginosis? Does this sound like anything you all have had, heard of, know of, or seen? Thanks to all and God bless you.
My next appointment is on the 28th, also my clinic is closed on Fridays and weekends. I am not sure where to go, I dont want to go to the ER, but it seems to need attention.

Okay everyone, sorry for the false alarm… it was just toilet paper. I stopped using the tp and it hasnt happened again. So I will still be seen by my doc, to make sure that all is well and the itch is from all the hormones etc. But it’s still nice not to have a frightening discharge, like I thought I did.

Women can get bacterial vaginosis, so can men get it, too? Will they exhibit symptoms? Can women give it to men? Can men give it to women? If you both have it, does it need to be treated at the same time?

I just started taking the awful pills yesterday for my bacterial vaginosis. When do the symptoms of the bv start to clear up? Is it normal for these pills to make me feel nauseous all the time? I eat and drink milk while taking them, doesn’t seem to help..

i went to the nurse today and told her my symptoms that ive been having and she simply said straight away.. "Bacterial vaginosis". But i also said to her that i have got my period ..so she said to me she will make it wednesday..which my period maybe finished by then, but what will she then do? can she test this still on my period? what will she do? she said "swabs". ive done swaps with the same nurse before.. will she be able to find out straight away or will it need to be sent to the lab? what is the process be on wednesday for me?
