I was diagnosed with BV, and given Flagyl 500 mg 2 a day for 7 days. At what day will the discharge and symptoms start to disappear?

What does it feel like and what are the symptoms?
Does it hurt when you have intercourse?

I’ve been with one partern only and I have a discharge its kind of milky and has a bad bad odor….its is white to grayish…. I think I might have it…but Im still waiting for my Pap smear results…my question is have you had it? what were your symptoms? any complivcations? thanks…..

How do you get it, whats the symptoms, and is it an STD or just an infection?
Can washing your vaginal area too much cause it?

A few months ago i went to get a Brazilian wax. I didn’t realize but the stick was double dipped into wax used on other clients. Anyways i got these small red bumps which i assumed were ingrown hairs, but i have put a product called Tend-Skin on them and they have not gone away. I also have alot of white/clear discharge and an odor. What are the chances this is bacterial vaginosis? Do i need to see a doctor about this or will it clear up on its own? I’m a virgin, but could i have gotten an Std? What else could it be?

I had a bacterial vaginosis before but I got it treated immediately. I dont feel its symptoms when I’m not having any sex when he’s gone travelling or even when we do it and he doesnt come inside me. I notice it recurs usually two days after he ejaculates inside me. I would love to get pregnant and we’re planning to start a family soon.

Although it has still continually been debated, more studies have proven that BV isn’t an STD. It’s more on the disturbance of the vagina’s natural pH and lactobacilli presence.

How can I possibly be fertile again and bear a child when I intermittently take medications for its recurrence? Pls help.
And one thing more, Only women get bacterial vaginosis, not men that’s why they dont need to get treated. I need a precise answer to my question.

I’ve been sleeping with my boyfriend for 1.5 years. We’re 100% faithful to each other. I’ve never had ANY problems with Bacterial Vaginosis before sleeping with him; was first diagnosed 3 months after we started having sex.

Since sleeping with him 1.5 years ago, I’ve been diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis 5-6 times! Most doctors I’ve seen tell me that it’s not spread through sex with my boyfriend, so he does not need to be treated — only I do… but I’ve gotten it back shortly after being treated (either that or it’s just not going away).

I just saw a different doc today (a male gyno) who told me that at this point, he’s PRETTY SURE my boyfriend is the one passing BV to me. He said he probably has an **infection in his prostate** so every time he ejaculates in me, I get the BV back again. He said he should see a doc before we have sex again and be treated.

However, my boyfriend has NO signs of a prostate infection (looked up the symptoms) and he has been treated with Flagyl pills once (I still got BV shortly after we both stopped our meds).

I would have no problem sending him off to the doctor, but he does not have medical insurance… (and may be told by the doctor that he doesn’t have a prostate infection/doesn’t need to be treated/cannot pass BV to me).

**Has anyone heard of a prostate infection (with or without symptoms) being the likely cause of chronic BV??** I’ve tried Googling, but haven’t found anything.
