Is there any at-home remedies for curing BV?

someone else asked this question and their answers were wrong. and the question was closed so i repost it. Anyways, the answer is that the semen interacts with bacteria in the woman’s vagina that cause the release of amines which are smelly. this is almost certainly due to bacterial vaginosis, and the woman in question needs to be prescribed metronidazole. no over the counter remedies will solve this problem.

I just got off my period and now have excessive discharge with a faint fowl smell. I know it’s not a yeast infection and i have had bacterial vaginosis before. Why would i have this if i just got off my period? I was thinking about getting a douche. Should I? I dont have insurance to go to the doctor. Any home remedies? Or is there anything I can get from the store?

I think I’ve been suffering from a yeast infection for about a month now. Around Oct. 3 I started having the abnormal discharge and burning sensation in my vagina when I Pee. However, October 12 I got my period and the burning sensation went away and obviously I couldn’t tell whether there was still abnormal discharge until after it went off. I did read that menstruation helps pass bacteria out of the vagina(don’t really know if that’s accurate). Anyway, after my period went off, I began to have full force itching in my vagina and on the outside, but no more burning sensation when i pee. The discharge had no odor and was white. Now it has an odor and is more yellowish. I need help with figuring this out. I was certain that this might be a yeast infection, but I don’t know anymore. It might be Bacterial Vaginosis or Trich from what I been reading. The symptoms are pretty much the same for all 3. It is easy to say go to the doctor, but I don’t have insurance so I don’t know what to do.

I tried using an antifungal cream but that made my itching worse and my vulva swelled. So I didn’t even use it the full 7 days. I’ve tried the sitz bath with vinegar and salt. That helps temporarily. I’ve been taking acidophilus pills which has been helping alot with the itching, but still have it a little. I’m thinking of trying garlic vitamins and tea tree oil. I’m also going to buy some plain yogurt. I just want to know does anyone have any other suggestions regarding natural remedies. Thanks!

i have bacterial vaginosis and prolly a UTI as well but i wanna cure it naturally. i cant go to the doctor i am financially unstable. they say you can cure it with natural home remedies but i once cured my yeast infection with yogurt and it went away with my period. so can i cure it naturally or not? please let me know how!

I am 32 weeks pregnant and am on an antibiotic for bacterial vaginosis, and I had to take half of a percocet as for my back pain. I was trying really hard to tough it out but it was too much for me, I figured half would make it bearable so I could at least sleep tonight. The side effects of the percocet and antibiotic both list dry mouth as a possible side effect… I have had a liter of water in the last 2 hours, just thinking I was thirsty, then I remembered that I was taking these meds. Any remedies for the dry mouth? Aside from guzzling more water?

We are TTC our first and this week was my fertile time. I ovulated on CD11, and I’m now on CD13. I was DX with BV (bacterial vaginosis) 2 different times within the last few months and started treatment on May19-May 21 and again for returning symptoms on May 29-May 31. My symptoms never came back until now. I felt very itchy and swollen when he had sex on Wednesday, and now I’m still itchy and my skin is VERY irritated and sore and I have the chunky/pasty discharge, which is slightly yellow-ish and smelly.

What home remedies help cure BV? HELP!

I have Bacterial Vaginosis, or so I think. Symptoms are a fishy odor, accompanied by an offwhite thick discharge. Occasionally I have itching (which may be due to an accompanying yeast infection). I have tried HV Essentials homeopathic BV treatment, but it’s back. Are there any at-home remedies for curing BV? I want to avoid the doctor because I am totally broke and have no health insurance.

Also, are there things I can do at home to keep my vaginal pH balance normal? I have heard of such things like eating yogurt. Is this true? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

hi ladies,i had itching in my vagina since a week so i went to see doc she said i have both yeast and bacterial vaginosis….im shocked and worried she gave me medication.i started right away.hmmm i donno whats happening to me all of a sudden im a very healthy person.no obligations,no worries,no health problem till now everythin was great till now.. im worried now.how to get rid of these 2 things.when i searched abt these 2 things in internet i mind blowed out some says it ll go if u follow the medication some says it ll come back again and again….im dead…doc gave me metronidazole 500mg for 20 tables twice a day for 10days.and the other is for yeast infection influzo…something i dont remeber for 7 days course.hmmm…..i wish after using these medications it wont comeback.so, anyone of u guys have the same problem and do u have any suggestions and tips or some remedies to get rid of these 2 things.pls im waiting.and one more main thing is that me and my husband want the other child so we want to plan but all of a sudden these 2 monters came so v stoped planing rite now.so doc says we can plan for a kid when im having these 2 things is that true???then when can we plan???which is the safe way???thank you so much on advance.

I’ve had this for quite some time now and it’s really annoying and embarrassing. I don’t have insurance because my husbands is so expensive at his job, so don’t want to go to the doctor unless I really need to. I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis about 4 years ago and took medication and everything went away for awhile. This whole year I’ve had a "fishy" odor, and lately having painful intercourse, it’s not from being too rough because we’ve tried being easier but still hurts a little. I’ve been with the same guy for the last 6 1/2 years. It doesn’t ever really itch that much, and when I use the restroom it’s "warm" at the beginning when I start going but it doesn’t "burn" I guess. I can’t remember my symptoms before besides the odor. I don’t remember painful intercourse. Can you have a fishy odor with a yeast infection? I also have thick white dishcharge sometimes. I take a shower every morning and put on new underwear but still smell myself a couple hours after. It’s so gross I can’t take it anymore! Any home remedies?
Also I’m 23 and have had 2 kids. I started my period at age 12 and have worn tampons ALWAYS since age 14. I wear pads at night, but also have to use a tampon because I have a heavy menstruation in the beginning.
