I think I have bacterial vaginosis…. I’m very clean and well groomed but when my boyfriend and I have sex the smell is almost unbearable How can I make it smell better?

My doctor blows me off about it, I have seen him multiple times and he tells me I am fine. I’m an to embarrassed to not take action of some sort. I am switching obgyns currently. But I have decided to self medicate. I have been dealing with it for 2 years now. It started shorly after had miscarried And put in mirena, an "iud". I have used flagyl and other yeast infection remedies. I have been doing more research on this bacterial vaginosis and it makes all the sence in the world. I started using a product called vh essentials, which is a homeopathic time realeased vaginal insert. I’m hoping this works, I’m looking for other remedies and also wondering of it is safe To use with and iud inserted. Thanks for your input in advance*please help.

I’ve been suffering from Bacterial Vaginosis for an entire year now. I’ve tried everything. I’ve seen four different doctors and have had like 5 different treatments.

The first doctor told me it was a yeast infection. I tried three different kinds of over-the-counter yeast infection vaginal medicine. NOTHING. So I went back. This doctor told me it was BV. She prescribed me a 7 day antibiotic. It worked for maybe a few days. And the stupid thing was freaking back! At this point I started trying home remedies. Nothing, still. I saw a different doctor. She prescribed me oral antibiotics as well. They didn’t work. I went back, and she prescribed me different antibiotics. Those didn’t work either. After visiting a different doctor, I found out that the last antibiotics don’t even treat BV, they treat bladder infection. F*CK! So I went to a different doctor. She gave me vaginal antibiotics instead of oral ones. I was to insert the gel every night for five nights, and then once a week for six months. She said my boyfriend and I could have sex after the first five nights and any night that I’m not taking the antibiotics. I was impressed with how well the medicine worked. Then my boyfriend and I had sex ONCE. Just ONCE. And it’s back worse than ever. I’ve tried everything possible.

I’m desperate. What do I do? My boyfriend has been with me before I ever got the infection. And frankly, I’m surprised he hasn’t left me yet. I’m in pain. I’m embarrassed. I can’t even have sex with my own boyfriend. Not only am I embarrassed to, but I’ve lost my sex drive completely. I’ve lost all my confidence. It has been way too long with few results. I’m afraid to lose my boyfriend because I can’t get rid of this stupid infection. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s ruining my life. If you have any suggestions, please help. Anything is helpful. PLEASE. :’(

I’ve been doing some looking around on the internet for ways to get rid of Bacterial Vaginosis, and keep stumbling accross this book "3 Days to Permanent BV Relief" or "BVCures". It seems like the web is flooded with this, has anyone actually tried this book? I’m not willing to pay for a book, sorry. I see that the "remedy" in this book can actually be found elsewhere on the net, if you’re willing to do the research. Any research I do only turns up tons of marketing websites trying to sell this book.

Is there an actual remedy, or are these just charlatans complaining about the dirty little secret health companies won’t tell you, meanwhile they won’t tell you unless you buy their ridiculously overpriced book?

Just found out I was pregnant. went to the doctor cuz of a smelly discharge. She told me it wasn’t bacterial vaginosis, it was just that i needed more good bacteria up there?? she suggested that i should stick some yogurt up there. she didnt wanna give any kind of creme because of my ealry stage of pregnancy. what should i do? has anyone ever done that? does it really work?

I am having a thick white vaginal discharge,no chunks and is not itchy. It has a slight odor but nothing too strong. I’ve had bacterial vaginosis in the past i am 21 and sexually active with one partner. Could this be it again, or is it something else? I don’t have health insurance right now so if you could suggest an over the counter remedy that would be great. Any help appreciated, thank you.
Is it ok to have intercourse or oral?

Ever since I have joined the military 2 years ago, I have been suffering from reoccurring yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. I have taken Diflucan (Fluconazole) and Metronidazole (flagyl) and every other medicine you can think of with no positive results. Anybody in the military knows that they don’t really try and get to the root of the problem, they will just give you the medicine and send you on your merry way. I read an article on using a clove of garlic and vaginally inserting it to cure yeast infections. Has anybody ever personally tried it? What are some other natural remedies that I can use to treat a yeast infection so that I won’t have to continually go back to medical?
I think what the problem stems from is the fact that when I work, I’m sweating and slaving for hours and all the moisture down there isn’t good. I only wear cotton underwear and I can change my underwear anywhere for 2-4 times a day because it’s so hot. I work on helicopters and so I don’t have the leisure of sitting all day in an air conditioned room.

Recall how Louis Pasteur used it in his laboratory studies when coming up with an effective way of killing of bacteria and certain fungi. Allicin, one main compound in garlic, effectively fights off infection. I just want to know if anybody has ever tried it and the results they’ve gotten back from it.

Thank you, Karen. I suggested to him yesterday that he went a saw a doctor. He told me he didn’t have the money right now, but he goes to the doctor regularly anyways. So I didn’t believe that completely. Anyways, he told me he thought it was unlikely that he had a female infection. I don’t know how many times I have to remind him that he isn’t a doctor and he doesn’t know anything about this stuff like he thinks he does. But since I’m not the only one who thinks so, I will make him go to the doctor. If he wants to have sex with me again, he will do it. Thanks again

Just so u kno im 16 and NOT sexually active. about 6 months ago i went to the doctors because i had itching, odor, and discharge "down there." the doctor did a papsmear and told me it was bacterial vaginosis. i continued with the antibiotics for the amount of time she told me and it went away for about a week and then it gradually started recurring. I askd the doctor for a refill of the medication to try again. I repeated and again it recurred after about a week.
Ive looked up a lot of information regarding BV and im wondering if there are any home remedies that i can try since the medication doesnt seem to be getting rid of the problem permanently.

I am 5 weeks pregnant. I have had recurring bacterial vaginosis for about 2 years. I called my obgyn to scehdule my first appointment and i told her that i currently have bv. She advised me they can not treat me in the first trimester because the baby’s organs are forming and any medicine they give me could harm the baby. she said at 12 weeks if the symptoms are still there they can treat me. As for right now I would really like some relief and wanted to try some home remedies. I was thinking of inserting yogurt with an applicator NOT soaked in a tampon. and maybe sitting in a applecide vinegar bath. Do you think this would be safe for my baby?? thanks
