I was diagnosed with BV, the doctor gave me pill called metronidazole 500mg and from what i have been reading this drug has very severe side effects( that sound worse than BV). I cannot afford to be sick at work. I was wondering if there are natural remedies that actually cure this infection. I have heard about eating yogurt and taking folic acid and probiotics. Does anyone know if any of these remedies work? Has anyone had this issue?

The most common one I have found is
" One of the best homeopathic cures for bacterial vaginosis includes a peroxide and water douche, along with taking folic acid supplements and acidophilus.
Some women have found success by inserting acidophilus into the vagina but many prefer to only take oral supplements which are obviously less messy but still effective.
Folic acid supplements are also among the best homeopathic cures for bacterial vaginosis. Frequently, this home remedy is practiced alongside douching with hydrogen peroxide. Women who are deficient in folic acid have found that this nutritional remedy helps to heal bacterial vaginosis as well as other conditions (such as anemia) which are caused by folic acid deficiency"
My question is has anyone tried this, and is this something you would just do for a week and its gone? Or do you have to practice these steps for a while? thats the only thing I cant seem to find anywhere is how long to keep taking the pills and the cleaning with Peroxide.

I have been having problem after problem lately, beginning with anal fissures, then I got strep and was put on antibiotics, while on those I got a yeast infection and a bacterial infection, (so was put on an anti fungal and antibiotic) then recently got a UTI and was put on more antibiotics. I’m now having symptoms of another bacterial infection. (this is all in a matter of a month). My first question is has anyone had reoccurring symptoms like this and if so did it mean anything? I have a new sexual partner but have been tested for STD’s and am clean. Secondly, has anyone used home remedies for bacterial vaginosis and did they work? Thanks.

Hi! I’m really struggling right now and i dont know what to do. I’ve had the same partner since 2010. I had unprotected sex on December 11th and he pulled out. Like a week later, i started getting a brownish discharge with a foul smell, no pain or itching. My period was supposed to come December 21. I think it came a few days late, but it was a VERY light period (not normal, my periods are ALWAYS heavy with cramps and sore breasts). after 6 days, normally it’s gone and goes back to clear non-smelly discharge. But, it didnt. on the 6th day there was still brown/red coming out and the next few days it still didnt go away. It had a little smell to it. and on and off it would go from clear discharge to brown weird smelling discharge or spotting. I don’t know what to think. I did some research and thought it might be BV, but how could it have came?! My partner is a bit rough when we have sex. I also read that semen can cause BV? I think thats what i could have. I’m really stressed about this and am wondering if there are any home remedies to clear this up because i cant really go to the doctor. Thanks for reading and mature answers only please.

I cant have sex, at all. Its too painful. It hurts to use the bathroom and it itches and burns. Im tired of it! PLEASE HELP ME !

I swear this makes me not want to have sex again ever. People were saying its normal to have discharge that smells after having unprotected sex but for a full month? I had sex on christmas and shortly after this happened. I made an appt for the doctor but its not until Friday and now I’m starting to itch. Is there anything I can do?

I’ve been trying to do research on ways to treat and prevent BV and I keep coming across e-books for remedies to cure BV naturally within 3 days. I haven’t found any useful reviews because every site that I’ve been directed to just seems interested in pushing readers to buy the book. Is there anyone who knows a little more information on these e-books? I would like to read a REAL review.

I was told yogurt helps, and all the natural remedies help but they don’t heal the cause? I tried prescription medicine and it didn’t work.I read it can result from stress or lack of sleep. Please let me know your experience and how you cured it naturally.
