I got BV about a year ago and had it treated by my gynecologist. I took the 7 day prescription that you take orally and the problem went away. About eight months later the problem came back. I am curious as to why this keeps happening. I shower every day and do not wash down there with anything but water and sometimes summers eve. It’s definitely not a hygiene issue because I am a very clean person. I have read that I should dip a tampon in yogurt and that should help the problem. What kind of yogurt should I use? I have also read that acidophilus and garlic will work? Has anyone taken these pills and found that they help? This problem is very embarrassing and I just want it to go away for good. Does anyone have any good tips for me?
I am looking for a home remedy for BV. Does anyone know of one?
I’ve been having it for like three months and I can’t go to the doctor because I have no insurance so what are some remedies I can do at home.
I have read many many posts on line, and I have looked online all night… for about 2 months I have had a BAD case of the fishy smell mainly after sex and my husband asked me to fix it LOL… it’s horrible and I don’t do antibiotics… SO I see very expensive pills for sale and some creams, it seems there should be a more realistic approach and cost friendly… so far I am considering taking a multivitamin that has probiotics in it along with acidolpholus (sp) sorry… and what I am not sure about is what to put inside considering peroxide or garlic oil from what I have read… maybe yogurt??? also I have an active sex life with my husband, so should I take a shower after sex at night and then do the treatments? Also don’t want to sound retarded, but I didn’t have a mom to teach me these things, I’m 29… should I not use soap inside? Since I have had this awful smell I have been washing…??? Advise PLEASE my poor husband!!! It’s so embarrassing… Thanks! It’s hard to find en
i have had this nasty infection 4 times in the past 6 months. antiboitics take it away but it returns after a short time as i cant get my "good bacteria" to return. is there any cream i can buy to restore my balance?
Ive been struggling with bacterial vaginosis for like a month now! I dont have any health insurance and yesterday I went to a free health clinic to see if I could get a prescription for metro gel! well after waiting for 2 hours the doctor came and saw me.. he asked me what the problem is I told him I believed I had BV and he prescribled me Metronindazole (without even checking me out)
Now Ive had BV before and I was told to either do a gel for 7 days or take a pill for 7 days.. The doctor told me to take the Metronidazole (500mg) ONCE..just ONE pill!
Well the prescription came with 4 and the one pill didnt do anything! so im going to take the rest (one every 12 hours)
If this doesnt work I cant go back to the clinic because each follow up visit is 100 bucks that I just dont have. Im hoping someone on here can give me some home remedies.. Ive heard of douching with hydrogen peroxide but I dont want to do that..but what about hydrogen peroxide in my bath water?? if so how much??
please help me!
i had it once and went to the doctor to get it sorted and just wanted to know. obviously, the doctors are the most effective and fastest so if ever it happens again im there.lol. just curious.
Ive tried the pills and the creams and nothing is working.. or it does work for a few days then my period comes along and it starts back up again.. anyone know any at home remedies or anything that has helped them with the chronic situation? thanks and anything will help =[ im miserable
yes i was diagnosed by a doctor, she prescribed me all these differant pills and creams and none are working, she said we will keep trying till we find something that works..
does yogurt work for vaginal bacterial infections also or is that just yeast infections? I really need to know as I am allergic to the medicine prescribed by my docotr. I need a home remedy for bactieral vaginosis…help please!!
I’ve decided to start some home remedies for my bacterial vaginosis as nothing else has worked. Is it okay to continue taking birth control pills while treating my bv or will this make it harder to get rid of? Also, has anyone with bacterial vaginosis used RepHresh to help them get rid of it? Would it be okay to use this as well?
The doctor prescribes antibiotics of course. But it only comes back and can also cause yeast infections. I’m tired of getting this. I figure I can save money and time by just doing it myself. If its gonna keep coming back anyway. I heard from someone that her doctor said put yogurt on a tampon because it works just as good as what he would prescribe. But idk. Only helpful answers please thank you!
I’ve had it twice before, I take the prescribed medicine correctly and until they’re all gone. It still comes back. I’ve been reading on this and alot of women seem to suffer with this. They tried lactobacillus acidophilus yogurt. orally and as a vaginal suppository as well as a vinegar douche. It seems to work for them. But I dont know there is a way to cure bv without antibiotics. Since the antibiotics work temporarily and cause yeast infections. There is no point in returning to the doctor repeatedly. Waste of time and money.

I need help!!! I have battled continuously with horrible BV for almost 6 years. I just don’t know what to do. I am so stressed and embarrassed. I have fishy odor and discharge (and it’s getting much worse after sex). I have taken antibiotics for the past 2 years, but it doesn’t help me…
Any one had any affective home remedies for Bacterial Vaginosis?
Please help me. Thank you all for your time
I have had bacterial vaginosis for over 4 months now and I have gone to my gyno three times. Two of the cream treatments gave me severe allergic reactions and one of the pills didn’t work. I apparently have a very small amount of bad bacteria but it just won’t go away and I can’t have sex and it is putting a huge strain on my relationship. I also apparently don’t have enough healthy bacteria either which is why I didn’t want to take my gyno’s 4th suggested treatment because apparently it is harsh (a seven day pill treatment-cant remember the name). I have been taking probiotics for a month and half now. Is there anything else I can do? I am desperate.
im doing the whole yogurt thing could this make my infection go away?
Does anyone know any effective natural, or at home remedies for BV?
I am only 13 and I refuse to use a prescription treatment from a doctor or anyone, I don’t want anything like that in my body, and it makes it worse anyway. Does tea tree oil work, and if so, how do I use it?
Also, how do I get rid of the fishy smell, because its absolutely disgusting.
Thank you! ![]()
I have read horror stories about the medications that they prescribe for BV and I don’t want to put myself through that. And I also read that they usually treat the symptoms and not the cure and it usually returns. Plus, if I don’t have to pay for a doctors visit and the medication, that is great too! Please help!
I recently was diagnosed with BV, I just finished taking Flagyl and it worked like a charm. (it’s only been 4 days)
But I’m menstruating and using tampons and now I’m worried it might come back. (I know I should use pads but I can’t afford them right now)
I’ve heard about using a yogurt injection and/or rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar. Has anyone used these methods before?
Should I rinse myself with the diluted ACV after my period is done?
The author last name is Tomlin to the book I need the information out of. I believe they consist of peroxide, yogurt and garlic but I don’t know how they are to be used
