I got told about a month ago that i have BV but my doc does not want to treat me as he does not like giving pregnant women antibiotics and thought it was to early in my pregnancy to take them especially. Im currently 19 weeks pregnant with second child and im getting worried that it going to cause problems with my baby. I’ve read that it can cause premature labour and low birth weights. I’m lost as to what to do, should i just trust my dr and leave it at that? I also spoke to the midwife about it and she said that its the dr’s decision so they can do nothing further to treat it. I have an appointment with obstetrician coming up (as i had a crash section with previous child, i am classed as high risk)… Should i mention to them what has happened and how i feel about it? Can they take control of my care over my dr?
Have felt in the past that this dr is not the best at his job! Not the only person who has said it either.
Would love to hear opinions

This might be kind of long. I’m going to explain my story and try to make as much sense as possible. I’ve had three sexual partners (none I have used condoms with) and my first partner we had lots of sex and his semen seemed to cause me to have strong itching, odor, and discharge & reaction so I went to my doctor got tested and I was negative for any STDS but I did have Bacterial Vaginosis.. They gave me an antibiotic and It cleared up with no problems. Then I had my 2nd partner and we had sex quite often except I had no problems with him.. everything was fine.. no symotoms of BV. So I move on to my last partner and now it’s back!! it’s terribly frustrating. I don’t understand how and why it does this. Basically I want to know is does it have to do with my PH levels and the different guys semen? I need to get to the bottom of this.

I have had a fishy odor for awhile now. I have gone to the doctors before and got treated for it, but it came back… I believe it came back because I didn’t take my full prescription. So I went to the doctor again and got treated again. For some reason, THE ODOR STILL CAME BACK! I went to the doctor again and she told me I did not have bacterial vaginosis. I am confused, what else would cause a fishy odor if it is not bacterial vaginosis? I thought that was the only thing that would cause that smell…. Serious answers please and thank you.
