Like literally I’ve had bacterial vaginosis 3 times in the passed 6 months and like 5 yeast infections. I got HPV which is sexually transmitted and people kept telling me that it wasn’t that bad hpv isn’t a bad disease because you can get it from skin on skin contact but I DON’T CARE! Any disease is bad. Especially when ur not used to having any. I never told him about any of this because I felt like he was going to say im a whore or its my fault I never even had a yeast infection until he and I started having sex. On monday we started to have sex and I was just thinking about how I just got rid of a bacterial infection and I just got scared and stopped. He was so mad and hasn’t spoken to me since. I think we broke up. Im just so scared and I don’t know how 2 tell him that he’s causing me to get all these infections by ejaculating inside of me. We’re both 23 and I go to the gynocologist eveytime something is abnormal

A few months ago I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection I think it was bacterial vaginosis, anyway they said it wasn’t a STD. I think I had it for a long time before that… and I think it either never fully went a way or came back… and I read that it can lead to PID, which can cause infertility. I also read that that can happen after surgery such as a hysterectomy or abortion… but if I don’t have surgery am I still at risk for PID? and if i am still at risk what are the chances that PID will lead to infertility? and if someone had damage from PID would invetro-fertilization allow the them to still have children?

Our very first doctor visit was a couple weeks ago, and routine lab work was done. My nurse contacted me several days later to tell me that Bacterial Vaginosis (Gardnerella) was found in my urine sample, and that she recommended taking Metronidazole. I’m very concerned in taking this so early in my pregnancy, and just anytime in pregnancy really. She mentioned that it can cause pre term labor and low birth weight and said that the only known cure is to take the antibiotic.
I have been reading books about the topic and also searching online for any help I can find. I really wish there was a natural way of helping clear the issue up rather than an antibiotic. I have read that taking the medication in the first and third trimester is generally not recommended, because it could cause adverse affects to my baby. When my nurse talked to me about taking this medication, she said I should begin taking it now. I am only 10 weeks pregnant, and at the time was 8 weeks. I mentioned that I have been feeling nausea and wondered if I could wait until that went away to take the medication. If I hadn’t mentioned this, she would have allowed me to take it, and I’ve read it’s not safe.
Mostly I’m just a little concerned! I really don’t want to take medication if I can avoid it, but do not want to seriously cause a problem for myself or the baby by not taking it. I need a little advice! Have you had personal experience with this? If I decide to take the medication, what side effects will it cause, and is there any alternative other than antibiotics?

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 8 months now. In eight months I have gotten bacterial vaginosis three times already. I’m under the impression that this is caused by him ejaculating in me, something about his PH levels or something. Before we tried conceiving he never came in me and now that he is I feel like my vagina is a petri dish!
All my gyno wants to do is prescribe me Flagyl and Metro Gel…. (I am allergic to the metro gel so I can’t take that anymore anyway, and I heard it only has about a 20% cure rate). But on the pill bottle it says not to take Flagyl in the first three months of pregnancy or if you’re trying to conceive because it can harm the fetus. And my doc know I’m trying to conceive.
I wonder if this is whats taking me so long to conceive? I’m 22, 147 lbs (5′4 so I’m not overweight), and neither the husband and I have ever had any sort of STD.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has ever had recurrent BV while pregnant/ trying to conceive and what you did about it/ what did your doctor have you do?

I’ve been suffering from Bacterial Vaginosis for almost a year now, its extremely annoying and i’m fed up with it. It’s gotten to the point to where its caused me to have a UTI (not fun). I’ve been to the doctor several times and they all prescribe the same medication (flagyl) which does NOT help at all in my case. I have a discharge daily that irritates me down below, and the discharge has a horrible smell to it… It’s truly making my life miserable, and i can’t continue to go to the doctor as i have been doing, money doesn’t grow on trees!!
I’ve also heard that Bacterial Vaginosis can prevent you from becoming pregnant, is this true?

I have never had vaginal odor before. I’ve been in a relationship with the same man for 3 years now. I went away for a month, boyfriend visited, had sex, and now I have a musty, fishy smell down there. I think it’s bacterial vaginosis, but I really don’t know what could have caused it. I eat healthy, bathe everyday, wash thoroughly, etc. I’m actually out of town on a work trip so I can’t see my doctor. Any other suggestions?

I have been on the Loestrine Fe pill for a little over a month because of a large ovarian cyst. I am noticing some discomfort like stinging and burning and a weird smell. I have had bacterial vaginosis before and this seems like the same kind of thing. I was just wondering if the pill can cause it.
