can bacterial vaginosis be caused by pads too and not just tampons? if you dont get bacterial vaginosis treated asap can it turn into something more serious like hiv/aids or some kind of std? and also what are ways too help control discharge from bacterial vaginosis?

I had some swabs done for an STD because i had yellow discharge(gross i know) i had a lot of it, and the tests came back negative for an STD but positive for BV. Is the yellow discharge caused by BV? And does it damage any of the female parts(baby making parts)? Serious answers please!
Also, does BV give you any pain in your pelvis area?

I have had it at least 6 times this year alone. I keep going and getting treated, but it comes back in a couple of months. Could my bf have it and keeps giving it back to me? He doesn’t show any symptoms of having it though.
So is this actually an STD? I have never cheated on him. I have been to the doctor several times since we have been together to get tested. I am clean except for this. Do guys have symptoms at all?

I am a week late, and I have had diagnosed Bacterial Vaginosis for at least the past two weeks. I only just took my prescribed medication today. Would this vaginal infection cause my delay’? Or would my stress from finals and lack of sleep from 2-3 weeks ago be the more probable cause (I ovulated 3 weeks ago, according to my cervical mucus).

I was with my ex for years and kept getting bacterial vaginosis. My Doctor told me that it is not a sexual transmitted disease but I havent had it again since I stopped having sex with him. Is it possible that he was the reason I kept getting it ?

I have recently been diagnosed with BV. I have been prescribed metronidazole, which i just started taking. My period is 10 days late today, after 2 negative pregnancy tests. Can one affect the other? I have been stressed this month, so that is also a consideration. Any help is greatly appreciated…

I have these symptoms each time (about 1-2 times a year). It is an infection, so I was just wondering if anyone else had these symptoms. They clear up along with the vaginosis in a few days of taking clindamycin. The symptoms come before the medication, so they’re not from the medication.

I recently started having sex, which I think prompted my first ever problem down there. I went to the gyno for the first time and I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. My doctor gave me the antibiotic metronidazol to clear it up. However, the more I look into it, it sounds like taking the antibiotic can cause a yeast infection. Is this just other types of antibiotics? Or am I likely to get a yeast infection now?

I have been diagnosed as having bacterial vaginosis. My period is almost two weeks late now. I KNOW that I’m NOT pregnant because I have been practicing abstinence for the past year. Can this infection be the cause of my missed period? I have never missed a period, other than the time I was pregnant with my daughter so this is not a usual thing for me. I am a little bit worried. I am soooo tired of getting that "can of catfood" odor about me every few months! I am CLEAN! I wash up several times a day! I wear cotton undies during the day. I don’t wear undies at all at night, except during Aunt Flow visists. I drink a lot of water. I eat my veggies. You would think with using anti-bacterial soap to wash up, I wouldn’t have this problem! I’ve been getting more bv than candida since I got pregnant with my now 5 year old daughter.
IT IS DISGUSTING! WHAT can I do, besides what I am already doing, to prevent the delicate balance of my vagina from going kerflooee!?
BTW, I am going to the doc tomorrow to get yet another prescrip for Flagil.
