Can Monistat cause Bacterial Vaginosis?

I recently treated a yeast infection for the first time 5 days ago. I used Monistat 1, which is a little more potent, and may have worked too well. Now I have a thick, white, smelly discharge, and I think it may be a bacterial infection caused by a lack of yeast. Can this happen, or is this a normal side effect?
It may be the cream, but everything I’ve read has said that it should be completely expelled by 3 days, and it’s been 5

How long ago did you use the Monistat? Whatever goes in, must come out. So are you sure it is not the cream that you inserted now coming out?
