BV is really common and most people don't have any problems from it. A few people, like myself, can't get rid of it and get PID, womb infections and abnormal vaginal bleeding. Usually it is just STIs that have gone untreated because these can scar the cervix. BV is just a change in pH and you need to have it treated cause it will not just go away on it's own.
