The smell could be the scent of him and her mixed from having sex including the condom smell.
Once you start puberty a white and/or clear, non-foul smelling discharge is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning. This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. It’s also normal for the body to try t flush it out after having sex.
Different Types of Discharge:
White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.
Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.
Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
Different types of infections:
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
Signs of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
An unpleasant odor
Pain and itching when urinating
Most apparent after your period
If it has a fishy odour that is a very good indictaion of BV. Please tell your friend she needs to go and get this checked. If this infection goes untreated it can actually damage your ovaries and tubes.

You don’t always get this infection from sex, I got it before apparently from having too many baths. I was only 18 and had not had sex, the treatment is just some cream. Douching makes it worse.
bacterial vaginosis is very smelly. if the smell is gone, i would have to say the discharge would be normal left over sperm from the guy. if after douching it isnt gone, see a doctor. goodluck.
Douching will mess up the normal healthy bacteria even more; don’t ever douche. It sounds like some sort of infection, maybe BV, maybe trich. If she is going to the doctor, which is a very good idea since she is kind of new to having sex and since she’s having strange discharge, then they’ll be able to test to see what kind of infection and give her medication to treat it.
