Bacterial Vaginosis? Why won't this fishy smell go away?

I am on day three of Metronidazole and the fishy smell still remains…I haven’t even had intercourse. How long should it take after starting treatment will the fishy smell symptom go away? Should I go back to the doctor? This is crazy! What to do???

Hi Heaven 26,
I read your question and wanted to let you know that the antibiotics do not always work. I have suffered in the past from BV and tried every known tablet out there but the vaginosis always came back.
i decided to do a little research into it and found out that antibiotics kill good and bad bacteria alike so not only is it getting rid of the bad bacteria causing the problem it is getting rid of the good ones that can help.
I suggest you try a different approach and try some natural remedies, i did and i haven’t had a recurrence for about 6 months now.
Take a look at the website i have linked to below i am sure you wil find this helpful, good luck with solving your problem.
I think I have it I have A LOT of discharge which is weird. I had it for like a year, never went to a doc. Nothing happened so your fine! Well I’m 12 so I don’t really know your probably 16 or something1 ahaha Just wear thick pantiliners. I’d suggest Carefree/Carefree Body shape or U by Kotex Liners. :] Good luck! Wish you the best! :]
I’ve had this several times in the past. I don’t really remember how long it took for it to go away, but it will. I would at least wait on returning to the doctor after all of the medicines has been taken. If the smell still remains after all the meds are gone I would definitely go back. Good Luck
