Bacterial vaginosis that just won’t go away?
A few months ago, my gynecologist diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis. He gave me a prescription of Metrogel with a refill. I used the medication as directed, and the symptoms cleared up for a couple of weeks at best. He told me that it might come back, so I had the prescription refilled. The symptoms are still occurring. Now, what? I’m very frustrated. It’s affecting my self esteem to say the least, and it’s definitely interfering with my sex life.

The pathogen for BV is the Gardnerella Vaginalis, in order to know for sure it is GV you’ll need a vaginal culture and besides the metrogel you need a oral treatment of Zithromax 500mg/day x 3 days and also have to treat your partner, otherwise infection will recur.
You can use home remedies. The problem with antibiotics that the doctor prescribe is that it kills the good bacteria that helps with getting rid of bacterial vaginosis.
I found a site that explained what to do to permanently cure bacterial vaginosis.
I’ll leave a link to the site below.
hope this helps…
Bacterial vaginosis antibiotics help in getting rid of not only the bad bacteria but also the good ones from the vagina. As a result you get relief which is short lived and your infection recurs.
