BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS SEX QUESTION! Please…?

i am taking metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis.. i only have two more pills left to take, (i was taking the pills for seven days twice a day) and it doesn’t seem like i have BV anymore… can i have sex while i’m still taking the medication.. i did not have sex when i had the symptoms of it..but now that it seems like it has gone away can i have sex? how long does the medication take to get rid of BV?

You should not have sex while on metronidazole. Could have cramping and may not clear up the BV. Finish all of the med or BV may come back. And those pills taste bad so, wouldnt wanna have to start taking them all over again.
Take your whole medication and then have sex again. Although your symptoms are gone, the little bugger still hasn’t completely died yet, so it is still contagious
Yes you can have sex. BV isn’t contagious, it isn’t an STD (unless they’re calling it BV but it’s really chlamydia or something- but usually they test). The only reason you might not want to have sex is that if you still have the infection it can cause breakthrough bleeding and cramping. If someone told you it was contagious that’s sort of crazy, because it isn’t that kind of bacteria. It’s usually due to an imbalance in the bacterial environment of your vagina.
lola d is correct, go ahead it is not contagious but is very common and dont be surprised if it comes back, if it does, sit down with your doctor and talk about what you can do to decrease your chances of getting it in the future. but it has at least 30% recurrence rate, so like I said, dont be surprised or upset if you have it again in a few months
BV is not in any way contagious.. however, whilst having treatment for it experts advice that a woman abstain from sex until at least 48 hours of completeting treatment.. This is just to prevent BV from re-occuring which will mean you’ll have to take those tabs all over again..
