bacterial vaginosis?
ive had it twice now and the gum doc sed never to use soap or bathwash ever again….but i never feel clean anymore, can anyone suggest a soap that can be used?
yes it does seem people are mixing up bv with thrush. the doc sed not to wash with soap because it washes the good bacteria away, leaving bad bacteria to multiply….
ive already took the antibiotics and got rid of it. wen the doc sed never to use bubblebath or soap again, it was as a prevention for possible re-infections…..

Funny suggestion, I don’t see how washing normally would increase your risk of this condition.
One way you might decrease the risk of recurrence is to try natural LIVE yogurt. At every period buy a small carton of live yogurt. Put it in the fridge and make sure everyone knows it is yours!
At least once a day, during your period, dip a fresh tampon in the yogurt and then insert it as usual. This helps to normalise the vagina flora. (organisms.)
Lactobacilli, the bacteria used to produce yogurt, and still present when you buy the ‘live’ yogurts, are the same organisms that grow in the healthy vagina. While they are present there is if you like no room for other more annoying bacteria to live.
Dove……quit playing with your bar of soap. Wash that stinking cat.
use plain unflavored yogurt… and also eat plenty of yogurt
Any soap will change the pH in the area making it easier for bacteria to get a foothold. Unfortunately there is just something about your body that makes it easier for them to grow. I would think the powders could predispose to it also, but you might try your luck with that.
There are products on the market for washing down below , go into your local Boots (UK) and go to the feminine section i am sure you will find something ..
~Caress, it’s the only kind of soap I can use that won’t cause a yeast infection.
Is your doctor telling you NOT to wash yourself? If that’s what he’s saying, IGNORE that!
Sometimes feces will make it’s way in the vagina and will cause Bacterial Vaginosis. If you’ve had diarrhea, this might be the cause, or something like that.
Good luck.~
you should go back to your doctor with these questions instead of the internet. people are mixing up BV and yeast, the two are very different. yogurt does nothing for BV
hi iv had this and the only thing that cured it after months of unpleasantness was a strong cause of antibiotics. i also use to wash wish anti-bacterial soap and i thought it helped
I use dove and it works for me. I had some problems too
yeh i had this for ages and it just didnt go! i took antibiotics, flagyl and another one which i cant remember the name of, i had to take a few courses but in the end it shifted it! some women get bv simply by how their body works, it also can be hormonal or related to stress or worry and upset!! people are confusing this with thrush and bv is so much worse!! washing doesnt make much diffrence but if you try natural yougurt on the area it will sooth it. get to your docs and get taking those antibiotics!xx
FEM FRESH, it works! it is uncented and mild and the only thing I use on that area.
