I'm taking flagyl right now it's day 5 and I see absolutely no improvement....My doctor was very young and inexperienced since I went to my school' health center and not a real Gynecologist...she didn't diagnose me based on a papsmear, she did it based on a simple 5min looking under the microscope right there in her office!!! There was a high bacteria presence so she diagnosed BV....so i think I'm gonna go back on monday and this time I'll demand to see someone who knows a little more about medicine than I do (I'm a bio major)!!!
In your case you definitly need to see a Gynecologist cause the infection might travel up to your fallopian tubes causing PID(Pelvic inflametory disease) which can lead to infertility. And make sure you have a papsmear and they give you the right medication for exact cause of your symptoms...

a second opinion may be in order...she may have misdiagnosed you, flagyl should have helped at the least some what, did she say anything to you about antibiotics, a wide spectrum kind may need to be added in addition to treatments already happening, because if in fact it is bacterial, antibiotics should clear it up. i wish you luck.
