Bacterial Vaginosis?

I have had BV for about 3 months now… my doctor gave me the 1-week Flagyl treatment, which I finished as directed, and experienced no change in my symptoms. Now, she wants me to use the Clindesse cream treatment. The question I have is.. since the Flagyl did nothing to improve my infection, is it likely that the Clindesse will? I’m starting to worry that I’ll have this infection forever…

I’m taking flagyl right now it’s day 5 and I see absolutely no improvement….My doctor was very young and inexperienced since I went to my school’ health center and not a real Gynecologist…she didn’t diagnose me based on a papsmear, she did it based on a simple 5min looking under the microscope right there in her office!!! There was a high bacteria presence so she diagnosed BV….so i think I’m gonna go back on monday and this time I’ll demand to see someone who knows a little more about medicine than I do (I’m a bio major)!!!
In your case you definitly need to see a Gynecologist cause the infection might travel up to your fallopian tubes causing PID(Pelvic inflametory disease) which can lead to infertility. And make sure you have a papsmear and they give you the right medication for exact cause of your symptoms…
a second opinion may be in order…she may have misdiagnosed you, flagyl should have helped at the least some what, did she say anything to you about antibiotics, a wide spectrum kind may need to be added in addition to treatments already happening, because if in fact it is bacterial, antibiotics should clear it up. i wish you luck.
