This may sound wild, but a GYN told me that a woman’s vagina needs to breathe. So take your medicine for BV, don’t have sex until all medications are complete and do not wear underwear at night.
yes, many women get it recurring. it is unknown as to why, but unfortunately i am one of those people
i try everything. it sucks!!!
well it is not a virus so if your vaginal environment gets overloaded with bacteria again it will happen
to prevent it – make sure to take showers at least daily and wear cotton underwear, try not to sweat and if you do, take shower right after, take shower right after you have intercourse\\
drinking real cranberry juice (not the corn syrup based cocktail) will help you maintain better bladder and vaginal health
also eat yogurt as the cultures in it can help you body maintain the right bacterial balance
also if you had it and you did not completely cure yourself from it then it can start up again
be careful using anti-bacterial soaps though cause you don’t want to kill ALL of the bacteria down there or you’ll get an yeast infection (some of the bacteria there is good and it eats yeast)
good luck!
I wrote a blog about this not too long ago on MySpace. Wish I could send it to you, but anyway. BV can be recurrent and it will usually stay around if you do not take presciption medication for it. There is a gel you vaginally insert for 5 to 7 days called Metro-gel and there are pills called Flagyl that you take for about a week.
I do not know of any over the counter or home remedies that will cure this problem. Whatever you do, do not douche because that can make the problem worse. Also, if you’re having unprotected sex with the same person, it’s possible that you guys are passing it back and forth to each other, in which case both of you will need to take medication.
Don’t panic, it’s not an STD and can’t hurt you, but the discharge and odor can get very "distracting" if you don’t take care of it. I recommend you go see your doctor.
