ok my lower abdomen has not been hurting but feels sore and also heavy. yesterday i had some pizza which didnt sit to well so i got serious cramps and finally went to the bathromm once i got home[cause i was at school at that time] but it still feels kinna sore…and also the day before yesterday i started excercizing again and did some sit ups. i had my period on the 18 of march so i’ll get it between the 16 and the 20th of april. i’m giving you all the info to see why my lower abdomen feels kinna heavy and sore cause honestly i dont want it to be BV [Bacterial vaginitis] or a UTI[Urinary Track Infection]….advice?? also i’m 23
also havent been sexually active in 2 years
I had a bad oder to the point where I couldnt even stand it,kinda like a fishy odor, even when i took showers it came back , my sister prescribed me some medicineshe told me she thught it was maybe a bacteria vaginosis and the pill worked for months, now it’s back and it’s worser after sex, what could ths be,does anyone else maybe know or have had it?
Also if Bacterial Vaginosis has caused infertility how can it be treated? Also can it only be passed on by sexual intercourse?
Also how would doctors know if it has spread to the womb/Fallopian tubes
I get a bacterial infection like one a month. Its more severe than a regular yeast infection. The Dr. says it could be many different things but sexually transmitted stuck out to me when she said that option. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any advise?
Hi. I’ve been taking antibiotics a lot lately. Also lots of UTI’s (still waiting on those results, I had to get an ultrasound of my bladder & Kidneys). But for a few weeks now, there has been a STRONG sort of fishy odor coming from down there, but only while I’m having sex with my BF of 3 years. I do not have any STD’s, I get checked regularly and my BF & I have been monogamous. I’ve had this before, and it was sort of the same smell, only this time it’s a bit worse. It’s so embarrassing. Is it a good idea to buy medication OTC? I know they sell metrozinadol or something like that OTC now, and that’s the same thing my last doctor prescribed me.
Also, I am not having any symptoms right now, My UTI (if that’s what it is, but they believe it may be a kidney stone. FUN!) feels like it is gone. I have no itching. No burning. No wierd discharge. Same as last time I had one, which was about 2-3 years ago.
Well, I have an APPT in December. Would it be okay just to wait untill then to see my doctor, and while I wait go ahead and treat myself with OTC meds for BV?
A month ago today, I was tested for chlamydia and a couple of days later, the results came back positive. I started a ten day course of doxycycline taken twice a day, took it exactly as prescribed, did not have intercourse during treatment (or up until this point either).
Now, a month later, and at least two weeks after having finished treatment, I am still having yellow discharge; this was the cause for concern in the first place – the very reason that I even thought to get tested because it’s abnormal for me.
I called the doctor’s office, and when I finally got a call back, what I heard wasn’t very helpful. He just said that the discharge is probably unrelated to the chlamydia at this point, and that after the treatment, the chlamydia is gone. Then he told me he wanted to see a gynecologist.
But that’s another problem all on its own – I am uninsured and I don’t know what to do!
Keep in mind that I was also tested for gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, as well as a simple yeast infection. I was negative for all of these.
What could it be?
I have a milky white discharge with barely any odor, itching, and a sore spot. Ive been checked for Herpes recently and it was negative. There isnt an actual sore, just a spot thats very sensitive to the touch. The discharge looks like BV without the odor, but the itching feels like a yeast infection. Cant get to the doc til Monday, can anyone help? Can BV cause sores? Or is it something worse? I have had unprotected sex twice in the last 2 weeks.
I’m almost 100% sure i have bacterial vaginosis.. but i called planned parenthood and they don’t to paps on anyone under the age of 21.. so how do i get the medicine? is there anything i can buy over the counter
I have a friend that has been married for 10 years. She has a history of urinary tract infections/UTI and yeast infections (gets UTI, takes antibiotic, then gets yeast infection). She took antibiotics for a UTI, and thought she was getting a "yeast" infection and used a 1-Day yeast medicine but her symptoms didn’t get better. She tells her husband that she’s going to get an appointment with the OB/GYN and he tells her he just started having a little discomfort while peeing/urinating. She says maybe he has a UTI or maybe her infection is causing him symptoms. She tells the OB/GYN and he tests her for STDs. His doc did the same. Her doc says she looks like she’s got bacterial vaginosis, his doc says he’s got urethritis. Later that week they get test results: She comes back positive for gonorrhea, he comes back negative. She swears that she has been faithful but so does he, and again his test was negative. She asks her Dr. if she could have gotten a false-positive and he says the tests are highly accurate. I found at least one news story where 5 women in Hawaii got false-positives (2 of them really had bacterial vaginosis, the other 3 had no infection at all). What I’m trying to get at is this: Is it possible that the gonorrhea test is perceived as highly accurate because the results usually don’t get challenged? I ‘m thinking that the majority of people being tested for STDs engage in sexual behavior that puts them at risk, therefore, they just accept that the test gave a true positive. Or they are in shock and trust their healthcare provider, so they don’t question it. Besides, "highly accurate" is not the same as "100% accurate" so doesn’t that statement in itself prove that false-positives happen?
Another thing, she said they had sex on Tuesday and she felt irritated Wednesday and used the 1-Day treatment, he started having discomfort on Friday, which sounds like she infected him, but he came back negative. Doesn’t that add to the possibility of her having a false-positive?
So please, serious answers only that address the false-positive issue. She’s already been told by her doc "highly accurate" and stuff like, "have you seen his results?" (she has),"if you didn’t cheat, he did" and "maybe he was already being treated" (I seriously don’t think he would have mentioned his problem to her if he was unfaithful and already knew he was being treated–why would he waste money on another Dr.’s appointment?). It just doesn’t seem to add up and I have a lot of faith in these 2 people and would love to be able to help them through this with a little support on the false-positive side.
