…but, I have a real concern. I have suffered from reoccuring BV (bacterial vaginosis) for several years. I have taken antibiotics many times and it will always return. I am looking to find out if anyone else suffers with this problem and if anyone has any reccomendations for treatment or prevention? I know some people will tell me to see a doc, but I have seen a doctor several times and even got a second opinion. There is really only one treatment they offer and I have taken it many times and it always comes back. I need help…I can’t live like this! lol

Alright. I’ve been dating this guy/trying to date for a while now that I’ve been emotionally involved with for over a year, and we’ve had sex about 3 times since February. Once I didn’t have any problems, the second time I got a BV infection and treated it (March) and now the third time I think I’m getting symptoms (slight irritation on outer labia, excessive discharge again (but I always seem to have -alot- of discharge normally). I don’t use a condom normally, because I’m allergic to latex and polyurethane are expensive, and he doesn’t come in me (I was on BC those times we did have sex, however). The thing is, he has a gf (Yeah, I know, I’m dealing with it at the moment. I don’t need any moralistic answers, I need answers to the problem at hand). They don’t have sex very often because their relationship is really weird and strange that way, but I haven’t asked (an quite frankly don’t want to ask because the jealousy kicks in, but might have to anyways). Is it possible that he’s passing the infection back and forth, and it’s just not affecting her or something? This is really frustrating as my vagina is just super sensitive to anything I put in it–go on antibiotics, bam, yeast infection. Use latex condoms, bam, yeast infections. Use nonoxyl-9 spermicide, yeast infection. I only have 3 days left of college, so I’ll be going back home to Tennessee and I have a doctor there so I might get it checked out there again, but I was just curious on you guy’s input.
Sorry Jazmin, cranberry juice alone does not kill bacteria. It helps prevent the staph bacteria from attaching to your bladder wall through tannins, which in layman’s terms block the little arms from hanging on and so you excrete them. I’ve been taking cranberry supplements for a long while recently to stave off a UTI.

I am so frustrated. I have been having female problems since I was 27 and I am now 30 pregnant with my second. I had started having pain during sex since right before I got pregnant with my first. I didnt think too much of it, and once I got pregnant I thought it was related to that. Then after I gave birth, the pain continued. I went to my doctor and he diagnosed me with vaginismus. Its not contagious, its just something you get stuck with. I started being more prone to getting yeast infections in the last couple years as well. Then with my seond pregnancy (12 weeks along) my doctor told me that my urinalysis tested positive for group strep B, which is just another thing you get stuck with. Not contagious but one of those "bad luck" things as he called it. I also got vaginosis which is a bacteria. Its one thing after the other. my damn vagina is so incredibly sensitive and seems to be having so many problems. I am always in discomfort and infact broke down in tears with my husband on the phone today cause I just wanted my normal vagina back (as funny as that sounds). My sex life has enormously suffered due to burning and pain during intercourse, and is followed by a yeast infection or bladder infection. Is ther anyone that has any advice,? I am so upset and just cant go on with this unbearable discomfort…its hell….

I went to the dr. a couple of days ago, thinking I had a yeast infection, but it was bacterial. He gave me a shot of rocephin, an antibiotic (I can’t remember the name) for 10 days and an insertable antibiotic for 5 days. I’m feeling much better, but my discharge is having tiny, tiny reddish spots in it every now and then. That’s not a bad sign is it?

i got monistat 7 day treatment.
but i dont know if i should take it or not, because i dont know if
i have a yeast infection or something else.
about 2 months ago, i had bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection
at the same time. so i dont really know which one came back??
the symptoms arent as bad as when i had both, so im pretty sure
its only one of them.
i have a yellowish whitish discharge.
it smells kinda funny.. but not really fishy. just weird. kinda ughh.
but not TOO BAD!
i ITCH badddd but not constant. its more like twice really bad a day where i cant stop itching but most of the time it doesnt itch at all.
i ended my period about 4 days ago and when i got off, i had A LOT
of discharge than normal. i felt it through my underwear, now its not so bad. so yeahh. but i wouldnt say my discharge really looks like cottage cheese though so idk what to do??
i tried having sex last night, but it hurt SOO bad. it felt like my vagina was ripping. seriously! when i was treated for yeast and bacterial vag. my boyfriend wasnt treated, but the doctor never said anything about him taking meds either. was he supposed to?
and PLZ. dont just tell me to go back to the doctor. im not rich to be
spending 120 dollars again.

For most of the 3 years I had spent with my previous girlfriend I had pompholyx. My doctor explained that pompholyx was caused by leaving my finger in a warm moist environment for continuous periods, she prescribed a steroid cream which controled the itching but never cured it. I have subsequently been seeing someone else and the pompholyx has vanished. My sexual practices are normal and are no different with both women.
My previous girlfriend did suffer from bacterial vaginosis. Could this be the cause?
The literature on the internet is very limited.

I have done alot of research into this odor issue and have found numerous sites dealing with this problem. I can’t get into my doctor til after the new year, but was wondering if I take some amoxicillin I had left over if it will help with my issue? I have enough for 10 days.

I think I’ve had this problem for at least a month now. I’ve gone to the er three times, and seen a doctor twice. At the er they gave me antibiotics, and my doctor told me to take less of the pills than they told me to take at the er. It did not clear up completely, so I went to the free clinic to get different antibiotics. So far, it’s gotten better but I only have two days left of my pills and I don’t know if that’s going to clear it up. I’m still having some of the symptoms(discharge), and I’m having some pain(don’t know if that’s normal). It’s seriously ruining my life. I’ve developed anxiety because of it, and my boyfriend and I have not been able to have sex in over a month.
I’m asking if there’s anyone on here who has had this problem before and knows how to get rid of it for good, without taking antibiotics or putting yogurt in my vagina.
