I am 32 weeks pregnant and am on an antibiotic for bacterial vaginosis, and I had to take half of a percocet as for my back pain. I was trying really hard to tough it out but it was too much for me, I figured half would make it bearable so I could at least sleep tonight. The side effects of the percocet and antibiotic both list dry mouth as a possible side effect… I have had a liter of water in the last 2 hours, just thinking I was thirsty, then I remembered that I was taking these meds. Any remedies for the dry mouth? Aside from guzzling more water?

Okay, so my vagina has been giving off a really foul musty odor with a white discharge for about 3 months now. I’ve been to the GYN twice. The first visit, there was a lot of yeast and protein in my urine so she gave me a prescription for Fluconazole for the yeast and Nitrofurantn for the Uti…anyway I finished all the mere and still has the musty smell and discharge! I went back to the doctor and both the Uti and yeast infections were gone but she wrote me a prescription for Metronidazole for treatment of Bacterial Vaginosis. I’m on my third day of the treatment now but still smells the same. I hope it clears…if not what else can it be?? This is really stressing me out and never happened before…BTW I’m std free.
HELP!!!!

Hello..I have been looking around all morning about this. I have had bacterial vaginosis infections on and off CONSTANTLY it seems, for like 5 years. I go to the doctor and take the prescribed antibiotics (pills, gels, whatever) and being an ANTIbiotic, those kill bacterial indiscriminately, so the good and necessary bacterias are killed alongside with the bad. Sure, the prescriptions treat it and it goes away. But then after doing anything sexual, i have another infection all over again, sometimes even after just having sex once! So needless to say, I am chronic sufferer of BV. I was doing research about it online but most every site is out to get you to buy something, I want to avoid doing that! I was more looking for some things I can do on my own. So far the closest and best thing I think I’ve found is to try Acidophilus (& maybe in combination with folic acid.) My question is, does anyone know anything that can be used to treat or perhaps even cure BV?! I am soo tired of having recurring infections! The smell is so strong and pungent at times! Also, does anyone know what causes this to happen so often and what the root of the problem is? Instead of just treating it, it’d be miraculous to actual figure it out and CURE it. Any advice or help would be appreciated!

Background: I’ve had some form of Vaginitis (no doctor has been really sure) for a year now. While I was on Clindamycin cream, my discharge stopped; all that was coming out was the medication. I was on this for close to two months, but as soon as I stopped the cream, my discharge came back.
Now I have been put on vaginal steroids, a hydrocortisone cream at tapering doses for 6 weeks. I’m about 2 and a half weeks in and I am not seeing any improvement. It actually seems like it has gotten worse; I have MORE discharge than I’ve had before. I know the cream comes out, but I also know what I am seeing is not the cream.
So, my question is: Is this a good or bad sign? I mean, the discharge has to come out at some point, right? Or is it supposed to stop altogether? I’m just really confused as to why I’m having so much discharge while I’m on the steroids, but when I was on the clindamycin, I wasn’t having much discharge at all.
Also, this vaginitis is NOT bacterial. I have been tested for everything under the sun and been on every antiobiotic pill and cream you can think of. It’s not an STD, it’s not bacteria, fungi or anything else. The current doctor has termed it "desquamative inflammatory vaginitis." There’s no known cause. I’m not on birth control and my hormones are fine. It’s not any kind of allergic reaction. I’m a mystery case…

Ok, so about 3 weeks ago i diagnosed myself with pinworms, and i realised i must have had them for a few months.
I went to my mum and she got me the treatment (im 15, female) so now they’re all gone.
BUT i have and have had for a few months vaginal discharge, a smell down there, itching and irritation, and a thin layer of white stuff on the labia lips.
Now i refuse point blank to go to a gyno (please dont suggest that) and am perfectly happy with over the counter treatment. I have no idea whether its thrush or vulvovaginitis or bacterial vaginosis and what treatment to use with the right one – please help!!!!
No the smell is very rare
what treatments could i use (over the counter)?
