I am 19 weeks pregnant and two weeks ago I went to my OB and she said that I had BV (bacterial vaginitis) and she perscribed me Flgyl anti-biotics. I took the full seven day dose and felt much better. It was fine for a while but this week I am feeling irritated again. It is a yellow discharge and I am feeling soreness. Could this be a yeast infection that I developed from taking the anti-biotic? I think it is highly unlikely that I would get BV again so quickly and think maybe it is a yeast infection because it is so uncomfortable. Should I take diflucan to get rid of it? I have a single dose tablet and it would be so worth it to get rid of this! Also it takes forever to get an apt with my doctor and I thought why not just go ahead and take the pill to see if it clears up and then if not I can just tell my OB when I see her next week and maybe she can check it again. Advice please? This is such a yucky feeling and I can’t douche because I am pregnant!!!
PS It is a faint yellowish color(against white undies) and not excessive…
Also I am not at all sexually active (my husband has been away for months now).

If any of you have looked at my previous questions from about a month ago, you will see this has been an ongoing struggle. Mid way through July I began having urethral discomfort and burning ALL THE TIME, and I began to have frequent urination. The doctors tested my urine three times. Each time they said I did not have a UTI. The also tested me for Diabetes. "No" on that as well. One doctor said I had Strep B in my urine but not to worry about that. Well, my period came, and a few days after it ended, my symptoms became managable. They did not disappear, but I could ignore them, and I was satisfied, because the doctor didn’t know what was wrong with me. I went to the doctor again a few weeks later because I had bacterial vaginosis. I completed the treatment for that about a week ago. About the same time, my frequent urination and urethral burning came back.
What could this be?
Could it be due to the Strep B?
Could it be due to the Bacterial Vaginosis?
Could it be due to Overactive Bladder? (even though I am only 18)
Please, I really need help solving this. Hopefully I will go in the doctor again tomorrow, but I am so scared they are just going to tell me they don’t know what is wrong.
That has nothing to do with my question. >:(
I am sexually active with my boyfriend but we don’t have vaginal intercourse. He does not have any STIs. Trust me.
*sigh* Its not my soap, its not my toilet tissue, I have been using the same kinds for years.
I drink PLENTY of water since this problem has started and I have started drinking cranberry juice. No luck.
I took Uristat and it made the problem ten times worse.
My doctor also said she doubted it was kidney stones.

I have unhealthy amounts of smelly discharge from my vagina. I just got back from my gyno; He said my vagina was very healthy, saying the coloring looks good, no unusal bumps etc. He did comment that I had a large amount of mucous but had no idea where it was coming from.
I told him that I am sick of living with it and having to wear sanotary pads everyday. Especially now that summer is around the corner. He said he didn’t know how to respond as he isn’t the one living with it. Saying he felt sorry that he couldn’t do anything ie an operation or examination etc.
He said it all came down to anal sex and saying cross contamination. I told him that I haven’t had anal sex in 8 months and the discharge is still happening even after giving me treatment cream for Bacterial Vaginosis. I have no STDS/STIs because I had the bloodtest and swabs.
On the way home I recalled when the discharge started happening and feel annoyed that I didn’t tell him.
To me the doctor seemed like he didn’t want to waste his time with me. Not even vague about giving me options or trying out other medication. He more or less refused to help me. I’m so miserable and summer is coming so more stinky sweaty pads for me if something isn’t done.
I’m looking at going to see another gyno when I save up some money. Would it be better to suffer with this unkown condition or is it best to see someone else?
He kind of started to dismiss my case when I said I used to have anal sex with my ex-boyfriend.
He gave me a lecture on the unhygenic practice of Anal sex. When I said I hadn’t done it for 8 months he just didn’t take it in. When I said the medication he gave me irrated the discharge causing it to smell worse and come quick. He didn’t get what I mean.
It made me feel disappointed. I got refered to him by my doctor (who also checked my vagina and said he couldn’t see what was wrong). I even showed him my pad I wore the previous day to prove to him that I wasn’t making it up and it is a daily occurance.
The gyno and doc gave me medication for Bacterial Vagionsis.
Is it okay to question a doctor and ask if I could have a tear between my vagina or something else?
*I’m 25, Ten kilos overweight, never had children.

I have had recurring bacterial infections for what feels like ever. My doctor (I know I need to see a different one) just keeps prescribing medication – which works fine until about 3 days after I’ve stopped. I was wondering if anybody has had any improvement with their BV using alternative methods. I do eat lots of yogurt and also take supplements of acidophilus, I also eat lots of garlic. My doctor also states that my boyfriend can not have bv – I have read that men can – is it true? I also know that its not an STD – I have been tested. It drives me crazy and I would just like to find a way to keep it in check – any info on things that have worked would be great. Has anyone ever tried enzara – its a herb you can buy online that is supposed to help.
