i went to the doctor 2 months ago with a yeast infection and the doctor gave me one pill to take because she said it was only a mild infection and probably caused by antibiotics i was on before. over the next two weeks it still didnt feel right down there.. the pill seemed to have helped but my discharge was still thick (paste-like) and had a weird smell. then it got worse..it started itching really bad.. it was so uncomfortable. so i went back to the doctor and this time she told me it was bacterial vaginosis… even though it felt exactly the same as before only worse. she gave me 14 pills and told me to take them twice a day for 7 days. i did this. the pills made my mouth dry and taste like metal and my pee dark and smell horrible but i kept taking them. this was two weeks ago and STILL something feels wrong. my discharge is still thick (not AS thick as before but thicker than when everything felt normal).. and every once in a while it gets a slight itching feeling, a tickling feeling almost, that only stays for a few minutes. my "down there" doctor isnt covered on my insurance and i can’t afford to keep going back!
i’m hoping someone could help me treat this problem myself. if i treated it like a yeast infection and used monistat and it ended up being BV would that make it worse? what are some home remedies for bv? any info you have please share!

I cannot find anything linking the two, except "If severe lower abdominal pain occurs with a fever of over 101 seek medical help immediately"

or something along those lines. no fever though, just been having this awful pain for a little over a month and it feels like it gets worse all the time.

my mother thinks BV is causing it, I disagree.

Doctors, obgyn, women with experience? can somebody please help me?

I have a sore throat/tonsillitis/throat infection or whatever you want to call it. My ex has chronic tonsillitis, he kissed me today and now i have a sore top left throat. I’m not blaming him, it’s not contagious but can bacterial infection be spread if you kissed someone else who has it?

I went to my university health clinic after my boyfriend (at the time) admitted to cheating and me and told me he had contracted chlamydia from the other girl. Of course I dumped him right away. But then, I was having really weird symptoms, those similar to somebody who has gotten the disease. It was burning when I urinated, I was itchy, and had a really strong weird odor that I never had before. They checked me for both chlamydia and bacterial vaginosis. Luckily, I my chlamydia test was negative, however I ended up with bacterial vaginosis. I took all the pills they prescribed, but now I’m having the same exact symptoms. I just took a shower and I noticed that my discharge has a funny odor. Could I have it again!?
If a guy gets the infection from me could the doctors mistaken it for chlamydia? I was reading up on the internet and seen that a lot of times doctors mistaken chlamydia with bacterial vaginosis.
Well before my ex admitted that he cheated, I had been getting frequent Urinary Tract Infections. Thats why when he told me he had chlamydia it all clicked in my head and I said,"well thats why I keep getting these UTI’s." But when I went to the health clinic and they said my chlamydia test was negative, I was shocked. But there has been a little burning every now and then when I go potty. I am making an appointment tomorrow morning with the doctor to get checked out. Thank you for all your answers and support. I’ll let you know the outcome.

I have bacterial vaginosis and it keeps coming back. they can’t schedule me for a clinic appointment for two weeks. They give me the metrogel or whatever and the next month I have bv again.

I have been trying everything. I’ve been taking acidophilus pills twice a day which are not seeming to work. I have been looking all over the internet for a natural cure. Right now I’m trying the yogurt with tampon treatment and the douching with hydrogen peroxide treatment. Which is better? I’ve just tried both. Does the peroxide treatment really work? I filled a whole douche bottle up with peroxide and douched with it. Was that too much? If so.. what are the effects? Please Help!
Should I keep doing the peroxide once a day until my regular discharge comes back?
