i am taking metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis.. i only have two more pills left to take, (i was taking the pills for seven days twice a day) and it doesn’t seem like i have BV anymore… can i have sex while i’m still taking the medication.. i did not have sex when i had the symptoms of it..but now that it seems like it has gone away can i have sex? how long does the medication take to get rid of BV?

ive had it twice now and the gum doc sed never to use soap or bathwash ever again….but i never feel clean anymore, can anyone suggest a soap that can be used?
yes it does seem people are mixing up bv with thrush. the doc sed not to wash with soap because it washes the good bacteria away, leaving bad bacteria to multiply….
ive already took the antibiotics and got rid of it. wen the doc sed never to use bubblebath or soap again, it was as a prevention for possible re-infections…..

ive noticed that since ive been using condoms with spermicide that ive had b/v twice in a year and never had it before.i had to come off other birth control and started using condoms.has this any relevance to me getting b/v,and could the chemical cause a miscarriage too

Is my vaginosis treatment not working or did the antibotics give me a yeast infection?
I am on my 6 day of my 7 day vaginosis treatment after day 3 i had no itching but its back now. I am 18 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I am very tired of dealing with vaginal issues. Its really making be depress and regretting being pregnant. I just want my vagina bk. I havent had sex in a while because it was too painful and I have these brown mushy spects everytime i wipe. The are like skin flakes or something, My doctor said the baby look healthy. I am just really stress.

I’ve been tested for STDs and HIV 3x in the passed six months and everythings come back negative. I had sex for the first time in April.06 and it was protected. My last sexual encounter was in June.06 it was also protected. In Aug.06 I noticed a rash on my outer vaginal walls going down from my clitoris to my vagina opening.

By Oct. 06 the intense itching and bumps where the rash was began. I suffered with this becase of no insurance for two months and in Dec.06 I went to the ER and was diagnosed with BV and yeast infection after a pelvic and vaginal exam.

The meds (metrozonidale and diflucan) did not work. Suffered again with itching, burning and the bumps were getting bigger. In March I went to my new doctor she gave me metrozonidale and cipro. That did nothing, but make the bumps bigger and more irritated.

Now I have greyish-white chalky discharge around my clitoris w/ a bad odor.

Why won’t the medication work? Could this be an STD? Anyone else ever had this problem?

I had a few tests done about 2 months ago. As i have been getting dryness, swollen vagina, painful urination after sex. The swabs came back saying that I did not have a yeast infection or Chlamidia, and that I have Bacterial Vaginosis. The doc then sent me away with metronidazole which I took twice a day for 7 days. However when i was having some ME time, after i notice that i was in pain and that my vagina was rather swollen all round. So off i went to the doctors again, where this time the doc gave me some Flagyl tabs which i inserted twice a day of 5 days. Once again after stopping this treatment i had some more me time, in which i had NO pain or any of the symptons i had before. However today I had some more ME time (im not crazy, just like sex! FPRIVATE "TYPE=PICT;ALT=" and had a little bit of swelling at the front of my vagina, and slight pain. Could this be BV coming back??? Also when i had swabs done would they have checked for Trich??? could it have been mis-diagnosed as they do both have the same symptons?? Really annoyed as this has been going on for months. Should i go back to the doc and ask for more Flagyl??

Ive been doing the metronidizole gel injections for 5 nights and was finished last night but I still have the discharge. will it maybe still go away or is there something else I have to do now?

I was prescribed flagyl for bacterial vaginosis 3 days ago and started taking it…however, the symptoms are still present. I know there is no "at home remedy" but is there SOMETHING i can buy in the drug store to just ease the discomfort while it’s clearing up? I can’t take it anymore =(

how long does it take to go away and what if you took half of you medication. can it still go away on its own?

i have noticed a huge change down there for the better and i have stopped taking my meds. thanks.
