Has anyone had bacteria vaginosis? And if so is it recurring? Also-why would I get it so often when I do take ALL of my medication when I get it, but it comes back after every period and even more. Besides all the presriptions/medication you get to cure it from the gyno, what other things can be done or taken to prevent this? It is so annoying and I get it constantly.
I wear tampons at first and when my period becomes lighter I wear pantiliners.
I change my tampon everytime I use the restroom-which is about every hour. I clean myself after intercourse. I only have one partner, we are both very clean and have good hygiene. And yes-I change my underwear daily.

I am trying to find home remedies for Bacterial Vaginosis. I found here online things like Garlic, and yogurt, but it never said how to use it. There were no directions on how to use neither the garlic or the yogurt. Anyone have any other methods or directions on how to use those?

I got BV about a year ago and had it treated by my gynecologist. I took the 7 day prescription that you take orally and the problem went away. About eight months later the problem came back. I am curious as to why this keeps happening. I shower every day and do not wash down there with anything but water and sometimes summers eve. It’s definitely not a hygiene issue because I am a very clean person. I have read that I should dip a tampon in yogurt and that should help the problem. What kind of yogurt should I use? I have also read that acidophilus and garlic will work? Has anyone taken these pills and found that they help? This problem is very embarrassing and I just want it to go away for good. Does anyone have any good tips for me?

This is kind of embarrassing, but I’ll get over it. I recently finished taking antibiotics for a Sinus Infection, which left me with a nice little yeast infection…(or so I think.) When I got the antibiotics, I asked for Diflucan, because I normally get yeast infections with antibiotics, but this time it’s different. I took the Diflucan on Friday, and I still haven’t felt any relief. At first, I could tell it was a YI, because of the itching and the cottage cheesy discharge. That discharge has gone away, but now I have a yellowish/green discharge. Keep in mind, I’ve had Bacterial Vaginosis several times, and the symptoms seem familiar, but I don’t have the foul odor…Just discharge, swelling, itching. I’m so uncomfortable. I HAVE been tested for STD’s…ALOT (I’m kind of paranoid – even though I’m in a monogamous relationship)…and I’ve been negative for all the other common STD’s. I’m at a loss….Anyone? Could this still be the YI or BV again? Ugh

I was diagnosed with BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) at a pelvic exam, I have no symptoms other than slight yellow discharge. No smell, no itch, no pain, nothing.
Does this mean I have mild BV? I know 1/2 of people who has BV has no symptoms, does that means they have a mild case?

I’m 11 days late for my period & I’m getting really terrible bouts of cramping. I woke up at 4 this morning moaning in pain because it woke me up and they are really intense and I can feel my vagina contract and it hurts but there’s nothing I can do about it. I’ve been taking some Tyelnol. I had unprotected sex with my (clean
& committed) boyfriend for 40 seconds twice, one time when he was starting to get wet from pre-cum. I just got done taking medicine for bacterial vaginitis my doctor diagnosed me with, she prescribed a topical ointment cream that you inject deep into the vagina. Now I have normal discharge with a little bit of (very faint) strands of kind of gooey discharge and my scent is changing to a more fish like scent. The discharge is white/clear in color. I don’t see how I can get this again, I just got off a week of med’s, what might be going on? Why is this odor coming back? Is it okay to continue the medicine past the prescribed time to help me some? Is it my diet that affects this bacterial vaginitis? I drink lots of water (1.5 liters a day), take vitamins, eat fresh fruit, veggies, wheat bread, lean meat. I only wear cotton and comfortable or loose fitting clothes and breathable fabric. I only have 1 partner and I’m his only partner and we are both clean. I really want it to stop, I don’t usually get this often, just the past month I have been for some reason.
I’m going to see a doctor very soon.

What exactly is Bacterial Vaginosis? how does one get it and why does it smell like fish?
Can guys get it on their own or can they only get it from sex.
An even more personal question I have is this-
My man has smelled like this before, (down there) without me having BV. Can a man get it on his own or only from a girl? I can handle the truth so please be honest.

I’m almost positive I have BV, I’ve never had it before but I’ve searched the internet and that is exactly what my symptoms are. I am scheduling a gyno appointment for next Saturday.
How fast will I get results? And can someone explain how someone gets BV, is it an STD? I’ve only had 1 sex partner.
Try not to copy and paste things from sites because I really don’t understand that. lol

I took three pregnancy tests yesterday, and they were all positive. All different tests. Today I went to a center and took their test and it was negative. Im really confused. I feel a bacterial infection has come back and Im wondering if that could affect a positive pregnancy test.

I thought I had a bladder infection so I went to the doctor and got on some pills that made me feel sick to my stomach and have diarrhea, then I realized it wasn’t a bladder infection at all, it was bacterial vaginosis according to my Gynecologist. So now I’ve been off the bladder infection meds for two days, and have a new gel like vaginal medicine that I’m going to start tonight… but earlier today I still had some diarrhea and upset stomach symptoms? Why is this? Help please.

If you had a patient with a bacterial infection of unknown origin how could you set up an experiment to figure out what antibiotic might work best?
Thanks!
