Gave birth 4 weeks ago now I have odor and itchy burning. I started culturelle a week ago now the past 3 days I’ve had symptoms of BV.
I know it’s not a yeast infection, I’ve had both yeast and bacterial infections and this is definitely BV.

I went to my obgyn for my annual exam and also for infertility, and my pap showed I have bacterial vaginosis. What exactly is it, and is it serious? He did prescribe antibiotics, I was just curious how common this is and what the cause is, and if there are ways to prevent it from returning. Thanks ladies and baby dust for all of you!

I read it can have no symptoms..and my nurse practioner told me she did not check because there were no visual signs. Is this normal they don’t test for this automatically since it can cause infertility?

I’m alittle over 15 weeks pregnant and I have had BV (bacterial Vaginosis) a couple times during this pregnancy…I’m scared I had it for awhile before I was pregnant and didn’t know. Right now I am on flagyle for it and I’m pretty sure it’s gone…I take it twice a day for 7 days I’ll be done with it on Thursday. Anyways, I read alot of stuff saying Bacterial Vaginosis causes premature labor, and treating isn’t proven if it has an effect in stoping the premature labor…Well I was wondering for all you ladies who have Had this while pregnant, how are your babys? How was your pregnancy?

I’m going for my second pap smear (last one I had was in 2007). What exactly are they checking for and if I think I have bacterial vaginosis do I say something or will the doctor be able to see that while I’m have the exam?
Thanks.
I’m thinking I have it because I had it before and didn’t know. I thought it was an STD for sure (despite all the protected sex I’d been having), but it wasn’t. It was BV.

I haven’t been around anyone sick and I felt fine yesterday. Today, I’m sick as a dog and ended up in the ER. I’ve been diagnosed with a sever bacterial infection which has infantrated my sinuses, both ears, throat, larynx, and lungs. I’m also being treated for a urinary tract infection due to acute side pains. How long is the incubation period? I went to bed symptom free and woke up miserable at 4 AM. How is this spread? Is it from another person or environmental? I would have asked my doctor all this, but the laryngitus has K.O. my ability to speak without pain.

Is the body capable of fighting against these infections even without taking in treatment?

I have bacterial vaginosis. ( I read up on the symptoms on the internet, and am positive I have it, plus I am also pregnant – and I’ve read that it happens a lot during pregnancy. ) Is there any kind of medications I can just buy in a store without having a prescription? I don’t have money or health insurance to go to a doctor and have something diagnosed that I already know I have. Please let me know.

I might have bacterial vaginosis, i’m waiting for the results of the test. I’m 3 months pregnant and I know it can’t be good for the baby. My partner will have to be treated as well, but he will have to go to the doctor, and it’s not always an easy task ( especially for something like this) to get him to go. I’m wondering if anyone has ever had BV and their doctor wrote a prescription for their partner as well?

I was told that a Bacterial Vaginosis infection was caused by not having enough "Good" Bacteria to help fight off the "Bad" Bacteria, thus allowing infection to occur. My question is: I heard that eating the yogurt ACTIVIA, helped to regulate the bacteria? Is this true? All the commericials ever say is that it helpes regulate digestion, but makes no mention about any bacteria. Can you answer is ACTIVIA is good for regulating Good bacteria?

I have reoccuring issues with bacterial vaginosis. I have only been having sex with one man in the past 6 years. but we are not in a relationship and I know he’s had unprotected sex with others. When we were in a reltionship I had contracted HPV which gave me genital warts. thats was over 4 years ago. My body rid itself of the HPV. (After treating the HPV was unsuccessful, I was scheduled for laser surgery and the warts just started going away on their own). I have since been vaccinated for HPV. I recognize the symtoms of BV, as I said It something I get every few months or so. But I have found one singke bump in the vaginal opening. It itches. The warts, I recall, didn’t itch. Is it possible that the BV can cause a bump?

I noticed the symptoms just after sex. I didn’t shower right away. But it wouldn’t have washed away all the semen even if I had. I don’t want to douche every time I have sex. What else can we do? Should my SO be treated for BV also?
